Hovfjället

Hovfjället north of Torsby and has been in operation since 1963. The resort is located 400-550 meters above sea level, which makes it wooded.

The ski resort has 16 slopes with a total length of 16 kilometers. Five of these are tow lifts and one chairlift. The slopes are mainly green and the slope is therefore modest. The slopes are quite narrow.

As you guessed, it is the cross-country skiing that usually takes up the most space in this part of Sweden. Hovfjället has of course cross-country trails to mention, but we will focus on the downhill skiing.

Recently, SEK 40 million was invested in Hovfjället. Primarily, these went to building housing adjacent to the hill. True ski-in ski-out. The road leading to the ski resort has also been renovated.

At the top of Hovfjället there are 17 cabins you can stay in.

The Hovfjället nature reserve is of course beautiful, although not huge. For the locals, it has always been an attractive destination.

With just three black slopes, this is a ski resort for the whole family or beginners. You rarely have to worry about steep slopes or avalanches.
