Great place, but don’t bank on buying any equipment here. It’s such a shit show to just buy some bindings, it’s actually easier to just drive back to Oslo and buy what you need there

Great steep slopes with good length. Usually lots of snow. Not many lifts, but few enough people to never have lift lines to speak about. Clearly one of the very best Scandinavian ski resorts for the experienced skier. After new snowfall there are very good freeride opportunities all over the slope area.

The views are magical and the West side was bathed in sun when we were there! Access to some fun off-piste makes this a worthwhile destination.

Several green slopes for the family but the mountain has character so if you want to do some leg training (WC slope at 850 hm) this is also a good destination.

- The park was not prepared

Always great skiing even when the weather conditions can be tough sometimes especially at the beginning of the season. The lift and operations staff are always friendly and dedicated. The lifts are great and no hoods are needed because then the lifts become much more wind sensitive. The lift system means that there are no annoying transportation distances. Real ski resort that is best suited for more advanced skiers.

I really like kvitfjell. Have been there twice in week 1. This winter, kvitfjell's Achilles heel shone through clearly. Old cold chairlifts. Invest in covers for the chairlifts. The Norwegian national ski team trains there, which cuts off the supply of slopes at the start of a season with little snow like this.
January 2024 kvitfjell was a five, the whole system was open, lots of snow in the powder forest.
January 2026 kvitfjell was a three because of the above.
Wide, beautiful and long slopes on all three mountain sides. Good drop height. Fantastic beautiful 360 view from the top.

Three lovely slopes in the long Olympic hill. Not just a single steep.

When black slopes are "reserved", it is highly doubtful whether it is worth going to Kvittfjell for the sake of skiing. The chairlifts feel old and "cold".

Good accessibility by train from Oslo. Good and long descents, but less natural and off-piste opportunities. Designed for slalom and giant slalom. March 2023.

Very few people on the slopes and good off-piste in the "Pudderskogen". The red slopes are somewhat short and the lower half of the black ones were closed when there was a lot of snow. No lift has wind protection, so you have to ride warm. Compared to Trysil and Hafjell, Kvitfjell wins on off-piste and forest skiing, both us adults and our youngsters think. Trysil has better black slopes. Hafjell's best lifts.

Here spent 3 seasons there the last few years and think it is among the best you can find.
Incredibly good groomed slopes, very nice staff and a great variety of slopes.
Highly recommended
