Montgenévre is located in France, right on the border with Italy. It is the only French resort in the Via Lattea system, which otherwise contains only Italian resorts. Via Lattea means Milky Way in Italian and is the Italian name for the Milky Way, just as the name suggests, the total ski system is huge and offers skiing at every conceivable level and in every conceivable shape. Among other things, the system includes the ski resorts of Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx. In addition to having access to the entire Via Lattea system, you usually get an included day in the nearby Serre Chevalier when purchasing a weekly pass!
Just because of that, however, doesn't mean that Montgenévre for itself isn't something to have, it's enough to stay on the French side of the border to get enough riding for most people. Just as it should be on a well-developed alpine resort, there is most of what you might need in the way of skiing; Children's areas, slopes of all difficulty, ski schools, park and so on. In addition to the usual, there is a half-pipe and two ski cross tracks.
