Mt. Ashland

Ski resorts in USA
Mt. Ashland is located high up in the Siskiyou Mountains in southern Oregon, just outside the city of Ashland and close to the border with California. It is an elevated ski resort where the weather often differs significantly from the valley below, with colder temperatures and more reliable winter conditions.
The skiing is characterized by clear vertical drop, relatively long slopes and a terrain that combines open slopes with forest skiing. The upper parts offer steeper rides and more continuous slopes, while the lower parts are easier to ride and are widely used for training and everyday skiing. When snow conditions allow, there is also access to lift-borne off-piste in the forest and along ridges.

Mt. Ashland is run as a non-profit facility with strong local roots, which is noticeable in both the atmosphere and the focus. The focus is on skiing rather than ancillary activities, and the resort is especially appreciated by regional skiers who are looking for altitude, natural snow and varied terrain without the pace and crowds of the big resort.
