Prali

Ski resorts in Italy
Prali is located in Val Germanasca in Piedmont, southwest of Turin. It’s a smaller ski resort with an alpine-village feel and its own ski area. About 16 miles of groomed runs and 3,510 feet of vertical drop provide more skiing on the mountain than the trail map’s size might suggest at first.
Two double chairlifts form the backbone of the lift system from Malzat via Pian Alpet toward Bric Rond. The terrain ranges from open slopes up high to forest lower down, with both intermediate runs and steeper descents. The Baby Ghigo beginner area offers an easier start, while the main mountain has more to offer for those who already ski confidently.

Off-piste skiing is an important part of Prali’s character. Around Bric Rond there’s off-piste terrain and sparse larch forest, with the option to combine lift-served skiing with tours beyond the groomed runs. The forest, however, is no guarantee against avalanches. Ungroomed descents should not be confused with controlled trails, and route choices need to be adapted to the snowpack, visibility, and local guidance.

Prali’s strength is the combination of village atmosphere, solid downhill runs, and off-piste skiing rather than a large, interconnected trail network. It’s best suited to experienced skiers who are happy to return to the same mountain to explore the terrain, but also to families who can make do with a smaller ski area.

When there’s “Reour’ d est” (snow from the east), Prali offers the best forest skiing in the Alps
