Saint Martin de Belleville

The only village in the Belleville Valley that existed before the ski resort planners came along. You don't want to stay here late in the season - then it's a slush track or lift down from the middle station. In the middle of winter, St. Martin, on the other hand, is a pleasantly temperate experience when midwinter lies like a lid over the higher villages. If you like carving, the red slopes above the village are some of Tre Dalarna's most sparsely populated slopes, and if you turn your head towards Meribel instead, one of the World Cup's gentler downhill slopes awaits. The village is small, hilly and very French compared to everything else in Tre Dalarna. Strange sestas may occur. In the spring, the St Martin 2 lift is an excellent place for marmot spotting.
