What do you think about Sölden?

I was in the solemn october. There were terribly long queues on both sides but we were lucky with the weather so it smoothed out. if the skiing was a bit half-timbered. In the morning it was nice in the slopes but after the sun lay on a full day there were a lot of puckles and Germans who smelled of solo oil in the gondolas. The offpiste was quite bad because there are so many people taking it an hour before all the pillows have disappeared.

I've been in the saddle 3 times.
it's a really nice place. In the winter they have a really nice park. the best part is that this type is never now people there so you are often yourself and need to queue.
I would not recommend to go there for summer skiing as I have done once because then it's the best people there and work out there is no park and it's quite small.
but in the winter there is so much to see. In the evenings there is always some fun to find.
It's a little sad that the people who are there are pretty bad, but it's usually better to feel even better.

Have been here with the club a few times and I have to say that the ride is not the best. It's a long queue and quite crowded in the slopes. After a few hours you can not avoid tourist puckles. I have a good time there during October and then here all the Swedes clubs there and work out. Then it gets crowded. But it's an incredibly nice ride if you are among the first to come up, and the long lift is worth the time! The village is very cozy.

have been to the sölden once. mistake! had saved money 1.5 years to go abroad somewhere. Everyone recommends Sölden, so of course yes.
When yes got out of the hill, it was full of people, d took 30 minutes to come first in the elevator queue, then another 20 to get up for the lift stopped. It was niping cold. I went over to Rhettenbach, hoping that there was a shorter queue there. Not. Got yes stand about 30 min there, oh oh. By this time I was already completely frozen. I did not know my toes or fingers either.
I would stay there for a week.
The highlight of Dan was when you got home and went to sleep in your warm comfortable bed. is it so when it's on vacation? do not go to Sölden !!

Have been to Sölden 5 times, but only during the Glacier season. There are usually very many people, very Germans there when I'm there, but it's because the world cup premiere goes together if you go there in November, and it's a plus to see Maier and the guys. However, the ride can be quite limited as early as it is bad
It is not possible to travel between the sun side and the shadow side of the mountain. However, if there is a half-meter of fresh snow, there are possibilities for fine easy-to-go snowmobiling.

was there on the autumn edge and went on the glacier. There was some good backs, otherwise it was a little shabby. In the so-called fridge it was a little steeper but there's almost never sunshine. unfortunately I did not go through the whole area so I do not feel the whole glacier so well.
I know there can be a lot of snow
quite suddenly, if you're lucky
the good pillows there.

Did the season in Sölden last year. I thought you could share the impressions.

Sölden's slopes are reputed to be flat and it is true to some extent. Certainly there are exceptions (for example, from Rosskirpl, 2700m, down to Giggijoch valley station, 1370m, black all the way), but most are blue-red. Most visitors are Germans without feeling for anything. However, it is considered to be a great advantage when they stick to a lift (Rotkogl) and queues in thousands in front of it.

The rest of the mountain is free ...

The rest of the mountain, yes this is where it starts to be interesting. If it is flat in the carved German slopes, it is brighter outside. All off-piste is really easily accessible and you have it for yourself. You can go untouched for a few weeks after snowfall, without walking a meter! In addition, there are a few, no matter what you compare, really good ride. See below. In their places it is beautiful (read sick) steep, but there are all levels.

The entertainment is a bit German, too. The seasons are few, apart from ski instructors and lift workers and the Swedes even fewer. The sport act exempted when a lot of nationals rock among the hockeyfrillas. Afterski takes place on any of the bars around Giggijoch, while night raft is best conducted on the Lawine or Jeti. There is also a place called Rodelhütte. Here's a little more, eh so to speak, unseriously. Not much clothes on the brides who work there, if you say ...

Be in season around in some other places, including in St. Anton. Should be among the better. Felt quite frankly when I came from Sölden. And then I mean the mountains.

A disadvantage of Ötztal varieties is the annual average, which is quite small compared to many other places. It snows often, but rather a little "small", ie with small flakes. This applies to precipitation areas coming from the Atlantic / England. The medium pump is well in a couple of decimeters. When the clouds enter the Mediterranean, the matter is different. Then there may be really big amounts in a short period of time. Large lava infestations after such southerners, however, owe it, as temperatures tend to rise as it rises.

Five Given Off-ÅK in Sölden:
All directions "Skiers _____"

1. "Rettenbach Valley"
Fall height: 1993m. Level: Easy Hike: -

From Rettenbach Gletscher down to the village and Gaischlachliften. 3370 -> 1377 mph. 2000 fall height meter down the river ...
Going from the top of Rettenbach. Keep right around the great glacier and burn past the right side of the trail to the tow lift. POWDER FIELD! After a while, it flares out a bit. Time to look down in the Rettenbach valley. You can not get wrong, but it may be fun first time to find one of the two lines that works. Then go down the valley and follow it until you reach the hut. Then take the black piste down to Gaischlach. Down. Not the best ride, but fanimej one of the longer ones.

2. "Hanging Glacier"
Fall height: 1100m. Level: Hard Hike: 200m

From Gaischlachkogl down in the Rettenbach valley. 3100-> ~ 2000 m. Almost always good snow, north side.
Get up with Gaischlachkoglbahn. Walk around the first little turn. When it's time for turn nr2, you go straight to the foot of the triangular endnight. Hike up over the comb. Go down the other side. Big glacier, get cracks last season, but you never know. Towards the end of the glacier it burns really. It pours out over a big crown (hence the name) and you are partially dropping off the huge "hang". Fat. Go down the valley to the valley and then follow it back. Good impfactor on the yoke because it basically looks Alaskavertically from the other side (where the Germans are). Do not feel so dangerous when you go.

3. "Tiefenbach"
Fall height: 1500m Level: Medium Hike: 15m

From Tiefenbach down to Bergshütten GaischlachAlm in Ventdalen. 3300-> 1800 m. Go up to the top of Rettenbach's northern peak lift. Walk over to the Tiefenbach area (about fifteen meters). Go down for the first edge, then tilt left and hold height. Go around the mountain whenever possible. Here are a number of lines in a few different slopes with a lot of snow. Select and wreck. When you begin to descend into the Vent Valley (the big straight ahead) it's time to start slipping back a bit. Aim slightly above the small village located on the mountain side. Here is a small lift that takes one up to a route. This leads to a mountain hut just at an anchor lift at the edge of the system. Very good ride.

4. "The S-Colouir"
Fall height: 800m. Level: Hard Hike: -

From Gaishlach down the Rettenbach valley.
Go down from Gaischlach, to the place where the Hanging Glacier hike began. Do not hesitate, go straight left out of the piste, to the right of the big windswind (if any). After almost a hundred meters you can choose either left or right. Left - good safe ride with snowy snow in the valley. Right - "The S-Colouir"! Sölden's most discussed yard. Choose the right if the snow is sitting, NOT otherwise. Can go really bad if it drops. In the beginning it is quite flat but soon there will be other buns. Large steep slope with high mountain sides that swivel heavily in the middle. S to the form and the name. From above, it looks as if you are going straight into the mountain, but when you get down you see the curve. Follow the channel down the valley. Make sure you have proof of proof afterwards.

5. "Solsiden Rettenbachdalen"
Fall height: 500m Level: average Hike: -

2450-> 1950 möh

Go from the top of the Rotkogl. Down in the piste and around the mountain peak. The whole valley is now in front of your feet. The sun makes the snow uncertain. A couple of really big drops during the season. Wonderful at the right conditions, type at the end of March. Just to burn down. No wonder. Follow the valley back and take the triple up again.

Do not miss the left shackle of Rosskirpl. Huge pillow field. Pretty faint and therefore one of the few that other guests find. Do not go down the ravine to the left of Hochsölden only. Proven and clear. (You may get up, alternatively drowning in the sack under all ice).
In bad weather, there is a good forest lane away at GaischlachAlm along the left of the pistemap.

Compared with France, the Ötztal mountains are at least as good in class. Was for example in Val Thorens v.1 this year. The ride there was about the same level. Western Austria is NOT the same as Badgastein, Mayrhofen, Kitzbühl, Zell am See and similar places.
