St-Luc is located in Val d'Anniviers in the canton of Valais and shares a ski area with Chandolin. Together, you get a high-class high mountain system with about 37.3 miles of slopes and skiing between approximately 1,680 and 2,3215.2 feet.
Most of the skiing is above the tree line, which provides large open spaces, good sight lines and many opportunities to collect vertical dropsmeter in one go. The altitude also means that the area often has good margins for snow throughout the season, especially compared to lower Alpine areas.
The piste selection leans towards intermediate skiing, with plenty of red slopes to grind carving in, but there are also steeper sections for those who want more of a challenge. For those who want more natural terrain, there are freeride opportunities near the slopes, often in the form of open slopes and side terrain when the snow is right.
St-Luc/Chandolin also has a snow park, and the whole feels like a mix of sunny high mountains and classic Valais village, with a slightly calmer and more genuine feel than the biggest mega systems.
