We have skied here a lot with the kids! Hundfjället is connected to Tandådalen with a transport lift and there is great skiing for the family. From the favorite WC slope in Hundfjället to surprisingly many beautiful red slopes lots of easier slopes. Östra Tandådalen is a favorite with many wide red and blue slopes and lots of lifts back up. So here you can go down and up until you vomit. If you get tired of Hundfjället-Tandådalen, you can take the ski bus to Lindvallen (which is not so fun) and if you buy a weekly card, a day in Trysil is included, which is 40 minutes away by car. Great! The lifts are fairly modern and reliable, which is a huge plus, especially if you compare with Stöten's only two chairlifts that quite often stand still for various reasons. Here, SkiStar has made investments that actually make a difference to skiing, unlike Stöten, which mostly builds accommodation. If you are not in need of super luxurious accommodation, there are many cheap accommodations and then a week in Hundfjället/Tandådalen + Trysil is really affordable! The best restaurant is Lyktan in Hundfjället!

Very poorly prepped slopes. Have been to Sälen 4 years in a row and it was the iciest I have seen.

Perfect for family with small children.
Valle's show that went several times a day, perfect for the smallest of 2 years.
The 5 year old went to ski school and was very happy.
Trollskogen was cozy for the whole family
Piste directly outside our accommodation at the dog mountain center, just put on the skis or pull the sled behind you.
The skiing for an adult average skier was good for a week and nice with fast chairlifts.
Perfect with evening skiing when the rest of the family rested.

The accommodation is top notch, but everything is terribly expensive and let's not talk about the snow removal, which is under all criticism, considering that we are in a place that always has snow in winter, they should have learned to clear the snow, especially in the accommodation's parking lot and the area around the accommodation

Second year we stayed at the lodge in Hundfjället on the sports holiday week 8. There is a lot that is good and the lodge is magical, but the lift queues are enormous and mean that you don't have time to go very much. This plus how extremely expensive everything has become is why we choose Skistar after 7 years in Sälenfjällen.

No maintenance on the slopes, all slopes become bumpy and icy... The lift feels outdated and is slow, low drop height. The snow is like slush and water in the sun. More expensive in the coffee places in the valley here than Hundfjället's top cabin... Hundfjället is 1000 times better!

Hello,
We were up V4 and everything was 👌 until Wednesday - Thursday. + Degrees on Wednesday and then it froze on the night of Thursday.
I feel that the slopes are worse pisted if I compare them to Stöten & Vemdalen which we have visited in the last 2-3 years.
Quite a lot of ice lumps on most of the slopes.
How do you experience it?

Me and a group of friends of 8 people went up to Hundfjället over my birthday in February 2021 and it was the best trip ever!
Everything from check-in to lift queues was as smooth as could be and we could enjoy glorious weather with wonderfully crisp minus degrees, just the way you want it.
Even during Corona we could enjoy a beer outdoors where we got to split into two groups, but it was no problem for us.
Can highly recommend Våffelstugan which is located at the end of Trollskogen.

Spent the Easter weekend in Tandådalen / Hundfjället this year. Windy and rainy unfortunately. But I was actually pleasantly surprised by Hundfjället actually. Many slopes meander through the terrain instead of being large wide piste arenas. There were several places to laze for it in skiing.
