What do you think about Tignes?

Went glacier skiing there v44. cannon weather, so basically it's over the clouds. The park is well, but overcrowded, there was a mini park that was forced to hang in. Me cash lift, which pajj clothes, I think "people think" of my equipment. Fairly expensive, I have for me, but they are the ones in the Alps. The backs are quite ok, but the best ones have been shut down due to national teams, of course, in advance season training. Then the slopes down to the valley do not open. May be fine if you go there in high season. The nightlife is no better at all.

We were in Val d'Isère v.1-02 and of course visited Tignes.
Absolutely wonderful skiing and completely unbeatable nature. (Too bad that three of us five girls got pneumonia on day 3. Probably probably on the sleeper bus. Next time there will be a flight.)

Ok. Tignes is probably the ugliest alp village I've been to. But if you ignore this fact, really, Tignes has a really lovely ride.
The system is extremely well-oiled and cleverly built and good access to bold driving.
You can divide the system into two parts consisting of Val Claret (Grand Motte) and Tignes.
The best skiing is available at Grand Motte but can be a bit difficult to find. However, if you have a good local knowledge, you can find a nice trip.

When you are in Val d'Isere you spend at least a couple of days in Tignes. Thats how it is. Very nice "sliding skiing" and a nice little town where you can stay and have lunch. The negative is that there are not so many "difficult" backs in Tignes. However, there are some lifts further away in Val d'Isere so it does not matter anymore. Of the places I've been to, I have hitherto been given the best impression of tignes

The suction got too big so I had to get away from me during the November holidays last season, First thought on Stryn, but decided to Tignes .. 20 degrees hot when we arrived and no snow as far as the eye could reach, damn oh, waste money , I thought..
But after taking the train through the mountain and up on the glacier, I was said to be amazed at least. In front of me I see snow and snow again
plenty!! The skiing here was definitely amazing! I mean, who can resist shining sun, 15 degrees hot, and pillows, in the fall of autumn !!
Not me at least. The thing does not get worse because almost the whole freeride elite hung in the snow park ..
Highly recommended!!

Tignes is something for you who prioritizes skiing before the party. Tignes consists of three villages. Val Claret where I lived is very small and has limited entertainment options. It's from the 60's so it means it's so French functional with a lot of concrete. Enormous system that is combined with Val d'Isere offers huge choices. Went with UCPA and the center is fresh and is a few hundred meters from the nearest lift.
Great place to go to late spring because it is so high. Got wonderful pillows and offpist that I never forget during v.13.

Tignes - snow-proof and superb skiing. The village itself is not much to cheer for but going to Tignes is for skiing.

very good ski resort ...... unfortunately too many rules about bans etc. tignes has very good loose areas but the prohibitions everywhere are forcing one to break the rules.
The slopes are tired of either flat or as in the steepest places where there was often a lack of snow during my week. In addition to skiing, the village and the people get a top rating.

Tignes back system together with Val d'Isere is one of the highlights of the Alps!
If you really have skiing in focus, you should hire a ski instructor or guide to get the best of back systems and off-piste skiing in Tignes & Val d'Isere (which I have done for the last 7 years with UCPA). Last I was there (v15) we got so much powder snow! what ride it was, the second time we had so cold and nice powder as late as week 15!
Amazingly beautiful!

Tignes is a high altitude, fun and even quite varied rides. The village itself may well be compared to a Swedish suburb ... so not too cool, but approved.
I was down during the autumn promise, v.44 (which also Henrik Florby was.)
and the readings of tignes were good much above my expectation. I highly recommend this place. Close proximity to the choice of ice can I imagine is a big plus during the winter season.
