Only the name Zermatt sounds high-grade class in my ears. A really good ski resort is also a place that can offer good summer skiing. Zermatt boasts 1000 fallmeters of summer skiing, which few resorts are close to during the winter. However, the high-heeled part is not so steep, but there are even warmer rides in other parts of the system. I highly recommend Offpistlöpan from Stockhorn (3400 mph) down to Gant. A really good ride with a fall height of 1200 meters. Also take the cabin up on Klein Matterhorn and climb on Breithorn (4165 mph). Do not go too close to the glacier overhang (big lava danger). On the south side, you have a few hundred fall height meters with very good driving. Climbing over 4000 mothers is very hard at all!
Feel free to go for a couple of days in the Cervinia area. Very red & blue but good backs on the sun side. From Testa Grigia down to Valtornanche you can go in a beautiful red-blue run with almost 2000 meters in fall height. It does not take you on a ride. Stand by at one of the cozy mountain restaurants down the road. In Cervinia there are also some really good and reasonably priced restaurants. Zermatt-Cervinia is world class!

Zermatt has something special compared to all other places, and it's all good people who do not even agree with the superior attitude that you want to spy on. In zermatt are all goa. except some locals. but all seasons. go there a season and notice. miss it hard

I do not agree with you who gave Zermatt such positive criticism. The slopes were quite flat, and it is always the case that Cervinia is worse, etc. Zermatt is not much better than Cervinia. I have not traveled much in the Alps, but if people say that Zermatt is the best ski resort in the Alps, no, I do not know. Unpleasant staff, disgusting food and great skiing. That's what I like about Zermatt.

So if you live in Zermatt during your stay in the lift system, skip to Brueil Cervinia where the food is better and the skiing is comparable. Plus the Italians are nicer.

Zermatt is the alp village and the ski area one can only wish to go back to.
There is probably no more cozy alp village, or town at all, than Zermatt.
With the fresh air (only silent electric cars are allowed to slide around the little ones), the little lift queues, nice people and the nice slopes.
Everything is perfect, but not the price. If I say this, you have to save some Swiss Francs before getting there. But it does not even lower my 5th.
However, a trip to Zermatt can have consequences such as sleep problems as you long back a lot :)

This e Alps village makes the heart beat an x-tra stroke. You can not find a more cozy place to go to Tebax.
However, tested only on glacier skating but full enough when they sprinkle in the legs on the autumn edge ... e you're a true snowman, you're ... :)

This is the best ski resort in the world has been there twice when I have greeted my aunt. There is something for everyone. The park is really cool and must be experienced.
The village is really cozy and nice with a nice shopping street with many nice ski shops I recommend Bayard a really nice shop with everything.
Those who have not been there go there otherwise you have missed something

I was in Zermatt a couple of years ago .... maybe 12-13 years .... so it did not get so much drinking then maybe .... but i have only nice memories there from .. like t. The ex village was so nice and beautiful and not a single engine noise but only horses with sleigh and electric cars driving around ... it was kind of klarnivals every night and there were a lot of people and so on ... the hotel we stayed at called Butterfly were outsiders ... it was like a 5 star hotel in sweden though it was only 3 star ... we actually got christmas cards of them for several years in a row after our stay there ... all the people who were there coh worked were helpful and nice ... but if you go to the actual slopes and then it was also super ... it was only good that there were no real beginners backing when I was there but it did not matter so much ... you were also close to Italy it was just to go up to the highest peak and then go down the other side ... the snow was perfect coh the weather likas A ....

I highly recommend this place and if I had money I would go there again ....

Nothing beats Zermatt. Have been there four times and cried me from there every time. The feeling in the village combined with a sophisticated versatile lift system that is constantly evolving is unprecedented.

If you think the offpiste is somewhat difficult, you should try the next best. Go National on the Sunnegga page. To let go of this super-brilliant and varied pist can make the stomach turn to the most experienced rider.

And those comments that Zermatt only has horizontal slopes ... have you been at Zermatt?

Just got back from Zermatt (2005-04-27); a great place to end the season. The high altitude guaranteed a lot of snow in spite of sun and heat. The late season of the season, in turn, guaranteed non-existent lift queues and rather untouched offpiste. The latter was very good, from Stockhorn (the guided course guessing from the 13th century) down to Gant. Over 1200 altitude meters, snow lane skiing from about 3500 meters above sea level.
The view wherever you are in the systems may be quite difficult; a fourty 4000-meter peaks with Matterhorn like the crown among the jewels.
If you want a good jerk (not quite unreasonable price) you are welcome to reach one of the Italian restaurants on the Cervinia side, for example, Testa Grigia with Italian wines and views of both Cervinia and Zermatt.

Have been to Zermatt 2 times - once in the winter of 2004 and summer of 2004. Have been to most places in the Alps and go about 2-3 weeks each year, but keep enough zermatt as number one. Offpist is certainly true - better in the Alps - and the slopes are good too - do not think there's one really good - steep hill and the lift system is also so, aftershin is like that too and nightlife is also like that.

so why is it best for me? - I feel that feeling. The village is grim nice - and very impressive mountains. Running from 4000 meters and joking lunch in Italy is really nice. If you want to have steeper slopes - you can go out on the slopes of the slopes in Italy - it works well - there are also some forest roads in Zermatt which are quite good - but you can go a lot if you go wrong.

However, I would like to have a few tips on possible offpiste in the area so you do not have to look for yourself - get back in 2 weeks.
