Buck Hill

Buck Hill is located in Burnsville just south of Minneapolis–Saint Paul and is one of Minnesota's most well-known urban ski slopes. The location makes Buck Hill a popular choice for night skiing and shorter sessions, rather than full days in the mountains.

The resort is compact but well-organized, with several parallel slopes that make efficient use of vertical dropen. The terrain is clearly geared towards piste, training and park, and Buck Hill has long had a strong reputation in racing and training activities. Many successful American alpine skiers have had Buck Hill as their home slope, which characterizes both the piste layout and the atmosphere.

The snow system is a central part of the operation and allows the season to be kept going despite the limited natural snowfall in the region. The slopes are prepared frequently and often maintain consistent quality, especially for carving and technique training. Night skiing is an important part of the business and contributes to Buck Hill being used extensively on weekdays.

Buck Hill is not a destination for variety or off-piste, but works very well as a training slope and local meeting place for skiers who want to ski often, efficiently and close to the big city.
