Was in Cervinia week 6 2023. Good pistes, some snow off the pistes during the week. The system is small if it wasn't for Zermatt I would have been tired after 2 days.

Cervinia is one of the most expensive resorts I have visited, paid over SEK 5300 for the international lift pass to also be able to ride in Zermatt. Eating lunch on the slopes or supper in the village was really expensive. Then I compare with Ischgl which I visited in week 2 2023 and Arabba week 10 2023.

Went with STS Alpresor and their tour leaders/guides did a very good job and made the week a good week with their piste tours and other activities.

Probably won't visit the resort again.

Quite ok but no more. Small and disjointed system, only one road across to and from Z (via the glacier). Unfortunately not at all according to our expectations. Our reference is the Dolomites, where we did some skiing.

Cervinia in my heart. Most of it is here. High riding heights guarantee safe snow. The choice between lovely gliding slopes on the Cervinia side and a little more challenging on the Zermatt side. Fantastic lift system on both sides. A little more luxurious on the Zermatt side. The lift system in Cervinia has been greatly upgraded in the 26 years I've been traveling here. I have also had the pleasure of living and working in Cervinia. Hanging with the first lift up and then riding a freshly groomed Ventina slope/7 down to the village is enough for me as a day's good skiing. Or to make it all the way to the top of the Klein Matterhorn, breathe in and just enjoy being alive. At the end of the day, after après-ski at Love, with tired legs, you can take and slide down the five to the village. A simple blue slope that can, however, get a bit run up and heavy depending on the weather.
The food is really good. Most people know Chalet Etoile/Ullas where Ulla and her family run a fantastic restaurant, although I personally preferred how it used to be with simpler pasta dishes where you could stay every day. Today, the style is a bit more luxurious, although you can still enjoy pasta Etoile. Evening dinner is enjoyed at a cozy Italian restaurant, where personally pizza at Art Grivola is at the top of my wish list.

Best in Europe:-) Lots of extremely well prepared slopes. If you need walls, there are sides on the Matterhorn as well as a lot of difficult slopes in Zermatt. Cervinia is a meditative place for us who love skiing and good food.

Cervinia is lovely!

But big warning for an apartment rental Immobiliare monte cervino! Really frivolous and completely impossible to have and do with on occasions!! Had to threaten debt collection to get back the deposit of 1,500 EUR and a hell of a lot of fees were charged, there was only one key for 4 beds, etc. Do yourself a favor and book with another agency in the village.

As usual in Italy, it is very disorganized and a bit chaotic. It did not get better because they did not open up to Zermatt so you had to stick to Cervinia.
The whole system is aging and would need a major overhaul. In addition, all slopes end down at two lift stations, which creates queues. The information about what is open, what weather prevails in the various places hardly worked at all, despite the fact that they have created a new app that they proudly market. In addition, there are red slopes at the bottom towards the village, which means that they are completely shattered early in the day by beginners.
A bit up there is the intermediate area Plain Maison which is quite flat. Feels more like a transport area to the higher regions.
The higher regions are significantly better, but even here it is often torn apart early as the slopes have slopes combined with flatter sections. Most red slopes have much steeper sections interspersed with green or blue, but it is the steepest section that determines the color.
Almost none of the black slopes were open (early January) and if they opened you had to keep an eye out yourself. This despite the fact that they marketed that they had record snow. Suspects that they had a real loss of man due to Covid and therefore did not have time.
Is it skiing you are looking for I would choose something more modern, or stay on the Zermatt side.
The food in most places was ok, but did not reach the usual Italian class.
Not quite sure that Cervina provides such a much better experience than the best resorts in the Swedish mountains. And if you still want to get down to the Alps, there are definitely better places.
I was also really surprised at how mediocre our travel host (STS-Alpin) behaved. A little company trip all over. However, I have not allowed this to affect the assessment above.

Have been to Cervinia with a group of boys, alone with teenage children, with wife and children and with completely alone. Always had a great stay skiing. We always go a lot on the Zermatt side during the morning and after lunch on the Cervinia side. Very good piste and the slopes are as wide as motorways and fit a carving man like me :)
Small cozy village with a number of nice restaurants.

Was there week 9 2020. Probably had a bit of bad luck with the weather because the lift to Zermatt was closed for the most part due to strong winds. This meant that there were often very long queues in Cervinia. Especially in the lifts from the bottom of the village. We stood for an hour once in the gondola lift. Actually a very nice system with good slopes, but the queues lowered the rating.

Had a great trip there 20 years ago. The village, the fabulous slopes and that you can enjoy Zermatt's system without being completely skinned on the wallet.

A system that suits the whole family. We like Cervinia / Zermatt very much and for the winter of 19/20 we make our fourth season. We especially like that the system is so big and everyone in the family can find their challenges. The 15 year old mostly hangs on the Zermatt side and looks for long lovely off piste runs. Our 11 year old loves the long flat dance floor and develops extremely mkt for each season. Fantastic beautiful and wonderful restaurants on the slopes that invite long lovely lunches in the sunshine.
