Ski resorts in Italy
What do you think about Cervinia?

I like Cervinia !! Have lived both in Zermatt and in Cervinia. The ride is a bit miserable on the Italian side, but who complains on a sturdy wide hill as you drive many lifts to get up, and a ride away from Plateu Rosa, and all the way down feels in the legs.
It is not as expensive in Cervinia against Zermatt.
The village is a bit boring .. thats not aesthetic ..

Were in cervinia 7 weeks Feb-April-03. Of course it was wonderful, the high altitude made the snow well. Easy to find quite ok offpiste (if it snowed more it would have been cruel). Almost no lift queues if you stay away from the plateau your cabin is from the village. The system itself is the correct extension, does not hang out so well (it is possible to connect with a slow slow lift) but it is also this which makes it easy to find its own corner. The village is quite small, not so many good places to choose from - dragon and let go. The best place, however, is Copa Pan, cozy and with the best drinks you can get. Next season, Copa Pans owner learns to open a disco in the village, which can raise the level of nightlife remarkably.

Then you always have the opportunity to take the lift to the top and go down to zermatt - a lot of slopes to and a bigger but more expensive city.

Short:
Good slopes
Ok offpiste
Quiet nightlife

Spent 3 weeks in April 2003 in Cervinia.

Before we got there we would have been a little afraid that there would be no much snow - as we went there late in the season. However, we were pleasantly surprised. It was snowing a lot at least one day each week, which meant we experienced a lot of off-piste skiing. Almost just chairlifts - some should get a boost. You noticed the difference in quality when you crossed to Zermatt.

There are a lot of Italians from Milan and Turin coming over the weekends. Mass families and older couples.

Ill-fitting tight costumes with neon-colored elements. We had a top ten list of the richest costumes we saw in the hill.

Otherwise, people are very nice. Many British seasoners. The Italians who otherwise visit or live in Cervinia are actually speaking English, unlike what I experienced in Livigno.

Nightlife was not particularly good. But that's what makes it happen, and me and my polar had a lot of fun while it was so late in the season and many travel agencies had finished their trips down to Cervinia. If you are going to Cervinia, there is the Dragon that applies and La Batt, on weekends, the disco in Cielo Alto is also worth a visit ....

+ Ability to ride at a high altitude (over 3800m)
+ food

- transport distances everywhere
- full of Italians on the weekend
- many bad skiers standing in the slopes
- Old lift system that crumbles when there are too many in the hill

Good range of eateries, quite mesiga slopes but certainly very family friendly. The Zermatt side was a scam but there was good skiing. Families: Go here. Other riders: seek elsewhare

Blueberries and transport stretches. The few black slopes are bright red in, for example, Chamonix. Pretty low standard at the cheaper hotels. Warning for "Cristallino" which is a concrete bunker as for the cod of the Tallinn hotel. Plus, because it's not so touristy and for the awesome food. A couple of good bars with strong, cheap drinks if you like it, such as Copanpan and the Dragon

Quite okay, sometimes really good ... but there are far too many transport routes! There is hardly a hill without a long horizontal party. Do not go there if you're boarding.

Amazingly boring place, get over to Zermatt right away.
The ground in the plant has not been run at all. After heavy snow, you can find good winds when the snow is untouched for a long time. (everyone just runs in the ground, nobody touches the powder !!!)

Simply a family paradise. The funniest skiing is on the Zermatt side. A walk in Zermatt can be recommended.

If you like sun, Italian food and lightly ice-skating, this is absolutely right. If you are a little better than average, do not go here.
+ With a lot of snow you can go everywhere.
+ The sun, all slopes have south facing position.
+ Sizes. Divine!
+ High altitude!
- Please go back.
- The sun - if it's snowy ...
- Becomes easy full of Italians on the weekend.
