Located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, Greek Peak is the largest ski resort in the central part of the state. Skiing has been conducted here since 1958 and the mountain has for a long time served as a home slope for both local skiers and organized training activities in the area.
The ski system includes a large number of slopes for the region, supplemented by several forest areas that open up when snow conditions allow. The terrain is varied and based on clear fall lines, where many runs go directly from top to bottom without longer transport sections. It provides a cohesive flow in the skiing that distinguishes Greek Peak from smaller nearby facilities.
The lift range consists mainly of chairlifts, with a couple of simpler lifts for the beginner areas. The resort has also invested clearly in night skiing, which is an important part of everyday skiing for skiers from nearby cities. The terrain parks have developed gradually and are a natural gathering point for both younger skiers and training groups.
Greek Peak is part of a larger year-round resort area with accommodations, restaurants, and other activities around Hope Lake, but skiing remains at the heart of the business. With its location close to major roads and a stable artificial snow system, Greek Peak is a reliable and well-developed ski resort for the northeastern United States, where the focus is on functional, varied skiing rather than alpine skiing.
