Ojojoj. Wonderful Northstar!
I was with family and other friends in Tahoe some years ago. Got wonderful skiing in Northstar, Squaw Valley, and more. Most memories come from Nortstars beautiful black backs.

We stayed north of Lake Tahoe at the lake during week 8. The best thing about the accommodation is that you can choose which lift system you can travel to. One day to Northstar another to Squaw etc. Which gives a two-way ride!

Nortstar is my favorite of the mountains that Tahoe has to offer. It is relatively large and offers slopes for anyone who wants to ski, beginners, jibbers, pudders and those who want to ice-cream in the black brants.

The lifts are fast, at least the new ones. The older lifts sometimes miss the bar as you fall down in front of them, some may seem a bit unpleasant but you get used to it a while. The Americans do well is the way they fill the elevator. In the larger lifts there are often single, double, triple queues, etc. Depending on how many people you want to sit together in the lifts, you are placed in each queue. Going like a thousand, just slink with a single or double queue to get up quickly.

Nortstars slopes are beautiful, well-ventilated and varied. The park is grim big, there is everything! Rails, boxes, superpipe, hope, what else do you want! (The jiboom is also nice, a hill with huge "waves" take a bit of speed and flight!)
If you get tired of the park and are craving for a little "normal" ride, just take the lift to Backside or Lookout points. There is black that applies. With only one lift up and many slopes you will stay for a while;).

In summary, what's best with Northstar at Tahoe? The park, the variation, the slopes? All together! With the possibility to go to another mountain if there is bad weather or you only feel about it.
What is bad? -It is expensive! it's hard to get away cheaply. The flight to CA costs a lot later, the accommodation and the food (there you go, but you can check around a bit). The time difference between CA and Sthlm is 9 h if I remember correctly. Take a while to get used to it, hard to just be away for a week.

We were gone for two weeks. Loved friends in CA one week so you got used to the time difference. Once in Tahoe we bought a day card at the ski resort it became for the day. It was 4/7 days in Northstar that was right, he did not get tired of the slopes and the variation was great! Hope you get an equally good week in Lake Tahoe like me.
