Pila / Aosta

The well-known and popular ski resort of Pila is located in Val d'Aousta in northwestern Italy. You can get here quickly when you land at Milan, Torino or Bergamo airports (there are daily buses from the airports). When you have fun with good skiing, you can get a view of several beautiful mountains – Monte Bianco, Cervino and Grivola. In recent years, a lot of effort has been put into developing the ski resort and Pila was actually the first to introduce a 6-seater chairlift. The skiing here is really good and thanks to the location in the valley, Pila is protected from the wind. Feel free to try the slopes Conius, Leissé or Chamolé, three of the better slopes here.

The highest vertical drop in Pila is 1200 metres and the highest peak is 2740 metres. Pila is a reasonably large area with 37 slopes of varying difficulty and with a longest run of five kilometers. Although many resorts in the area have gentler and more child-friendly slopes, Pila is more geared towards intermediate to expert.
