Porte Puymorens

Porté-Puymorens is located in the eastern French Pyrenees, near Andorra and the Spanish border. Here, a small mountain village with stone houses meets a ski area with about 28 miles of slopes and ten lifts. Skiing is spread across the village, La Vignole, Fontfrède, and La Mine.

The terrain shifts from forested slopes closest to the village to open alpine faces higher up. La Vignole has a beginner area and a snowpark, while Fontfrède and La Mine offer red runs and several black options. The six-seat Dôme de la Mine express lift provides access to the upper section, where easier runs also make their way down through high-alpine terrain.

Off-piste skiing is part of the area’s character, but terrain outside the marked runs should not be mistaken for secured descents. The trail map highlights both avalanche risk and cliffs around the higher slopes. For off-piste, you therefore need awareness of snow conditions, route choices, and local advisories—not just fresh powder.

Porté-Puymorens is best suited for skiers who want to combine easily accessible groomed runs with steeper options in a relatively compact area. The beginner slopes also make it possible for groups with different ability levels to share the same base.
