Rödeby

Rödebybacken is a small ski area in central Rödeby, north of Karlskrona in Blekinge. There are two lifts and one run of about 1,050 feet. With a vertical drop of 125 feet, skiing here is more about short groomed runs than long downhill descents—a setup that mainly suits beginners and skiers who want convenient time on the slopes close to home.

The slope is groomed and has both snowmaking and lighting for evening skiing. Snow production requires below-freezing temperatures, and rain and mild weather can limit operating days. It’s therefore wise to check the slope’s status before visiting, even during winter.

The facility was developed through volunteer efforts in the 1970s. At the base of the hill there is a warming hut with changing facilities and a restroom, as well as ski and snowboard rentals. Rödeby is best for your first turns or a shorter ski session, rather than for those looking for a large and varied ski destination.
