Svartbäcksmåla

Svartbäcksmåla is a small ski area near Nybro in Småland, with three slopes, a vertical drop of 131 feet, and a longest run of 755 feet. Skiing here is more about short runs and technique practice than long downhill descents. The hill is run on a volunteer basis by Nybro Slalom Club, which also organizes training sessions and competitions.

A kids’ area, ski school, and ski rentals make the resort a reasonable choice for those first turns. A small snowpark with a box and rails adds variety for anyone who’d rather work on tricks. Snowmaking and lit slopes also make evening skiing possible, but you should check operating hours before your visit.

In the same activity area, there are cross-country ski trails for anyone who wants to combine downhill skiing with a workout. Svartbäcksmåla is best suited for beginners, families with children, and local skiers who want time on snow without traveling to the mountains. The limited vertical drop, however, means experienced skiers will get through the offerings quickly.
