Located in the Paznaun Valley in Tyrol, on the road to Ischgl, the See is a nice contrast to its larger neighbours: a slower pace, family-friendly set-up and plenty of space on the slopes. The ski area stretches from approximately 1,040 to 2,570 metres and offers about 42–26.7 miles of slopes with 10 lifts – just the right size to feel varied but still easy to learn.
The skiing is mostly blue and red, with wide slopes and good flow for carving and cruising. However, See is not only "nice" – you also get longer runs that go all the way down through the system, and when visibility is good, it's a really nice feeling to collect many vertical dropsmeter in one go. One of the area's classics is the long valley run, which can be up to 5.6 miles.
For those who like to go snowpark, there is a smaller park with jumps and simpler features, easy to reach via the lifts in the system.
And if you want to go off-piste, there are also ski routes and more natural terrain to look for when conditions allow – often at its best after fresh snow, when you want to find a little more freeskiing than just the piste.
A major advantage is that the See is part of the Skischaukel Kappl & See: two ski areas on the same lift pass, with a free ski bus in between. This gives you more options during the week without having to replan your entire trip.
