Snowstar Winter Park

Snowstar Winter Sports Park is located just outside the Quad Cities, in Andalusia near the Mississippi River. This is a typical "Midwest slope" where you maximize the number of rides in a short time – a compact system with about 11 hectares of skiable area, short movements and an atmosphere that feels more local than destination.

Snowstar opened in the winter of 1981/82 after land had been purchased as early as 1979. At that time, the area was significantly smaller, but was quickly expanded with more slopes and additional lifts. Today, there are 14 slopes with a clear emphasis on intermediate skiing (about half), while the rest are divided between beginner slopes and more advanced slopes. The natural snow is about 97–40.2 inches per season, but what makes the facility stable is that there is access to artificial snow on all slopes and a snow production that can last for about 75 days of season.

The resort has six lifts in different variants, two of which are trailer lifts, and the base area is simple but complete with ski school, rental and the opportunity to take a break between runs. For those who like parks, there are features such as quarter pipe, hip jumps and spines, and when the legs are exhausted, there is also tubing. Snowstar also has a zipline all year round, but in the winter it is mainly park laps and fast rounds that make people return.
