Alpine Valley Resort

Located in southeastern Wisconsin, near East Troy, Alpine Valley Resort is a classic Midwestern resort with a focus on accessible skiing rather than large elevation differences. The proximity to Milwaukee and Chicago makes the area popular for day and night skiing.

The skiing is conducted on a compact mountain with clear vertical drop and short but varied slopes. The terrain consists mainly of groomed slopes with a smooth slope, supplemented by some steeper sections that provide variation despite the limited size. A large part of the skiing takes place on illuminated slopes, which makes night skiing a central part of the experience.

Alpine Valley is well adapted for technique training and efficient piste skiing, where many laps can be done in a short time. Snowmaking is used consistently to secure the surface during the season, which is crucial in the region's varying winter climate. Terrain parks and training areas occur periodically, but the focus is clearly on traditional alpine skiing.

This is not a destination for long mountain runs or off-piste, but rather an easily accessible ski slope for regular skiing, evening sessions, and weekend getaways – especially for skiers who live in the Midwest and want snow close to home.
