Stranda reviews

Fantastic ski area on two mountains with lots of off-piste, both on bare rock and in the forest. In addition, good vertical drop and fast lifts, and stunning views. Often large amounts of snow, but since it is close to the coast, it can also come as rain. Then you can take the opportunity to visit beautiful Ålesund, a kind of Venice of the North.

There are also almost endless summit tours in Sunnmøre.

A real favorite actually!

Lived in Sykkylven on Airbnb a short distance from the beach, where I combined working remotely part-time with skiing. We were there in the 2021/2022 season all of March.

It snows a lot here, but it melts away just as quickly. The first few days we missed the exit to the car park due to the banks of snow covering the signs... There was so much snow...

We got some really cool days in the system when it had snowed overnight. No queues, but the snow is a bit heavy because it is so wet near the coast.

But the big reason to go here is all the top tours you can do.
Snösäkert.se has been here a lot and finds a lot of nice tours on their website for all levels. Outstanding and have 5-10 cm of powder, sunshine, fjords and views of the Atlantic. Hard hit!!

The beach is a gem that only few people know
We had a fantastic off piste weekend with +50 cm pillows for three days.

The beach is simply very good: Has been there many times and rarely pissed and rarely been disappointed. The plant has amazing natural conditions with the mountains, the fjord and the mass of precipitation. It is, however, Norway's western country, if you are unlucky, it will rain in the middle of winter; But it usually comes as snow and it can be a lot of snow. Not so much snow that the pistols have difficulty coping with.
In recent years, it has been invested heavily in the plant with a pair of modern lifts instead of the old POMA plates. There are also a number of ski resorts where you can go taxi back to the facility for a reasonable amount of money after a long offpiste ride.
The food in the pavilion is good class: If you are lucky enough to see the view, it's a ski lunch that you will soon forget!
If you are there for a week, it may be fun to check out any of the other facilities, they usually only open on weekends. There should be no sneeze every Saturday. A week without precipitation on the west is very rare. There is cooperation on lift cards, so you can buy a card that applies to many facilities.

Maybe especially now that they got both gondolas and 4-6 seat lifts that take
skiers quickly up on the mountains.
Unfortunately, they are still struggling with service and food supply.
But! the skiing and the view beat most of what you used to be
with about.

Count on 0.0% afterski in Stranda, if you want to rock a little. Do you have to
travel all the way to Ålesund for a little party and meet some people.
It may be a bit of a little dump afterski at the top coffeehouses there
It also serves lunch, nice mackerel and some homemade cakes.

Bring studs and equipment for safe ride in the mountains - such as search / transmitter, low-key,
spade etc.

It was really nice, lots of surfaces that could be left with more or less sticky. On both sides there are opportunities for challenges, and because it is quite close to the open sea and Norway is the bottom of the board, maybe all the moisture makes it heavy but it works. Also breathtaking views.

Fantasy area that, in my opinion, offers Norway's finest mountain. Stranda offers quite nice skiing, and there are also pillows, but if you want to get it extreme, it's top trips in the area as mentioned above. If this is the case, there are books that describe good hiking opportunities.
The other thing that draws the rating is the weather, the whole western part of Norway is usually bad weather, and it's hard to trust weather reports.
If you would like a nice weather for a day, you will probably not get a better trip in Norway.

Can probably agree that Stranda is jolly blurry. Very chanced with rain as the biggest risk factor. The Gulf Stream makes the climate warm.
Do not plan a week's skiing holiday there as I did: it became 1 w. Rain, snowy rain & refresh ismanchester ...
Must say, however, that S has cruel potential, without a heli lift.

However, want to add the positive qualities of the beach:
1. When it's a new puppy, you'll be quite lonely about the shit for a while
2. The pimples are right long (think of the one who goes down to the valley as last go see the map)

Summation:
Take the position someone before and go spontaneously like a day trip or so, after a dump. I'l be back ...

Rate the setting é almost impossible due to the weather of course.
But, as we are aware, we do not mind doing anything

When you go to a shark ski resort you should know what to do.
There is no better place for easily accessible offpiste in the north as it snows.
As elsewhere, check the precipitation and the weather before going on a ski holiday if you claim the resort.
All ski areas close to the coast will give you either snowfall or rain regardless of the month you choose

Of course I went there when the sky opened and the dump came.
Got great use of my then new Asteroids.

Stranda should only go to (Sunnmøre Alps) if you know the conditions. All ski resorts located on the coast should be checked first.
However, there is no better area in the Nordic region in case of heavy snowfall.
That's the reason why Stranda has become so hypathy, Röldal, too, but lies further inland.
It is for the easily accessible offpiste and the snow which is the reason to visit this place.
Definitely not food or afterskin.

I had a nice reason to visit Stranda (have been here several times) when it dumped a few days.
My then new asteroids really gotta be with o surf.
