Ski resorts in Sweden
What do you think about Vemdalen?

I have spent many weeks and individual days there several seasons so my grade is not based on only a single week or so.

Vemdalen is a very good ski resort that offers three different ski areas and a really cozy mountain feel. The Vemdalsskalet which is the main ski area of the three included is where your most go. The skalet offers a well-varied ride with a slight fall height. If you like to party and have a good time, there is the Högfjällshotelet on the shelf where it will usually be a good move for some weeks.
All ski areas in Vemdalen are children and family-run but the best for families is probably Björnrike, where there are many button lifts and a large beginner area. However, Björnrike should not be underestimated as the new 6-chair lift offers good fall height (400+) and really good slopes.
Klövsjö is a classic place with little branatarian slopes.

Vemdalen has developed incredibly much in recent years, more accommodation and restaurants but above all skiing! Since 2005, four 6-seat express lifts have been built in the three ski areas. However, it should be mentioned that, in my view, the number of guests has increased as the expansion, which caused the crowds to be very large, but there are Klövsjö and Björnrike, which usually have fewer people on the slopes.

If you go into negative things, it's good that none of the ski areas are particularly big, but they have about 16 runs, but the lift pass applies to all ski areas so you can easily vary.
The fact that the ski resort is not so big makes it possible to get rid of law weeks, especially in the Skalet.

+ Slight drop height all ski areas have over 300m
+ There are opportunities for off-piste
+ Very new lifts (probably modernest in Sweden)
+3 Ski areas on a lift pass
+ Good parks, especially Björnrike
+ Very backnight accommodations
+ Great back restaurants
+ Countryside
+ Varied ride

-Have become a lot more people in the Skalet
-Not ski area is particularly big

As van Vemdalen-skiers, I can recommend some things; The vessel in the shell is clearly worth the interpretation of after the waffle cabin, from where it then goes back to Vemdalsskal's ski area. Top cottage on the main side Vemdalsskalet, very cozy environment and good coffee!
The backs at Grizzlyexpress in Björnrike should not be missed, they are really lovely to me.

In summary, it is a very good ski resort with cozy mountain feel and I hope they continue to develop the various ski areas to make it even better!

Even if you invested a lot in the slopes and built new lifts, etc., capacity is not enough because you have built even more homes. This year it's getting worse than ever. During the big weekends and sports weekends there are unbelievably many people in the slopes. Buy both up and down the slopes, 30 minutes queue, battle for the places, and full of screaming toddlers at lunch places. In addition, boring riding on ice-creams. Avoid!

If you go on a weekend in mid January or early February, you can get a good ride if it is snowy. Was there for the weekend 11-13 February this year and it was really good shooting after a snow storm earlier this week. A little cold it was iofs, -23 on Sunday morning.

Me and my family are up in our cabin about 8-9 times a year, both summer and winter. The area has been enormously developed in a few years, mainly due to skiing, new fast lifts and accommodation. Often, Vemdalen is first open for the season and when the slopes are green in Sälen, people go to - Vemdalen. Despite the expansion, it is a cozy atmosphere and the mountain feel is genuine. The art remains to continue to develop the area without losing it. Each time we get up, we get to know what a great place this is. Being able to travel between three different ski areas within 20-25 minutes, each with its own character, feels luxurious and provides a varied skiing experience. If you want to go hiking in the mountains or on tracks, just take the skis and leave the houses. If you have realistic expectations based on how Sweden's mountain world looks (no peak of 3-4000 meters :)) and visit the culinary gems, you will not be disappointed when you vacation in Vemdalen.

Is in Klövsjö / Vemdalen 3-4 times a year and thinks it's top, good backs good offpiste and good with the new sex chairlift in Klövsjö. Now they have also been living with flats (apartments) and will build a similar sex chair lift in the björnrike (grizzly express) which will be Sweden's longest express lift. ;) :);)

As a 51-year old man with 45 years of hunting in the luggage, of which the last 20 years at least 2 weeks per year. In the Alps usually in Italy. Now I was persuaded to go for a Christmas week 2008 in Vemdalen and Klövsjö. If I summarize: Put the money on an alpesa, you get so much more for the money. the slopes food the wine weather etc etc. Vemdalen was a monumental disappointment, short slopes, expensive, and cold

Be in Vemdalen and Klövsjö now during Christmas, Klövsjöfjällen will be a lot better now with the new fast 6-chair lift up to the top. The Supersvängen and Grand Slalomack are really fast, beautiful and chapped long black slopes, and are only hit by the Skalpas black pist "shell". It feels in the legs when you push the skis on the hill. The Vemdalskalet I think also got a lift when the skateboard came, there really are the best slopes and also the best lift (6-chair express) in my opinion.

Sälen feels only faded and boring in skiing, the exception is Stötens "älvan", the best piste in Sälen (and also among the Swedish mountains). Should you have both a party and a good ride, there is only one place in Sweden, Åre. If you go out with all queues during high season there is nothing better.

If you want a beautiful mountain feeling and cozy nature, then Tänndalen and Ramundberget are all about, the skiing is high in Ramundberget, but the right lifts. Unfortunately, Tänndalen has a bit of uniform and short slopes overall. Seems to be many pistes but most are molded in the same shape.

Is a 2-child's mother who was in Vemdalen during Easter week. In addition to divine weather, the surface was fantastic, a little queues, and long goa slopes.
We lived in Björnrike right next to the hill which was the cannon when the children had been tired, but me and the man would continue in the afternoon.
Compare to Sälen, which is the Maternal Family of Mothers, this is much better and longer, more "mountain feel" (both clean and mountain backs), cheaper, almost no queues (on Easter !!) and three areas with the same lift pass.
We tried everything except Storhogna. Dead race between Vemdalsskalet and Björnrike. Björnrike is cheaper to live in, smaller queues, but has no chairlift. It would have been nice if there had been. Now our children are 9 and 11, so they can manage to ride anchor themselves. Otherwise it may be a bit hard ...
The skull had some really goa downhill runs on Skalsfjället.
Klövsjö had good backs for beginners at the top. Park at the top. There's just sliding down the slopes. Amazingly beautiful with all the snow that was in the winter, and we had brilliant sun as well. Then it's great to have a snowdrop up at the top. Otherwise, there was no great skiing right there.
What was missing was a bit more fun for the kids. It does not have to be a "Troll Forest", but a little path in the forest maybe.
Summary: A really nice place I would like to go back to !!

To me, Björnriket is a complete place to spend the winter with, family, friends, etc. Björnrikegården is also a gem that you learn to visit with very nice staff and goood food !!!

- Good, quite tall slopes!
- Beautiful après ski with real fun and fun events.

Summary: Really good place to go skiing!
