Just coming home from the vemdalen. Went home one day earlier because it was so safe. Cold and windy, dull slopes in addition to the puck piste. No resturants in the middle of the hill. No cabin lift, just a chair lift the rest of the lifting lift.
Nightlife is over fat. Afterski at 15-18 and late nothing more.

Had given worse grades if it had gone.

Never again Sweden for my part.
Good skiing can be found about 200 kilometers south of the vemdalen.
The extra costs it costs to go to Austria is worth it.

Björnrike can be perceived as a boring ski resort but have been there for 15 years in a row, so you can find the gold grain. There are really only three backs of class Grand Slamack, Snobben and Upper Storting. But these are among the better I went in. The Störtløppshoppet in Störloppet is to recommend, take a lot of speed and shoot away instead of attenuating. Gives you a nice 90-bladed flight. The Grand Slamack is otherwise the most challenging with good slope. The snob is for those who want to shine / fall in front of the lift people.
In addition to the offpiste mentioned earlier (and not mentioned) I would like to talk about the forest outside / above Långsvängen. If you're ready to knock a bit, this is okay, but it's a bit freaky in the middle. However, there must be a lot of snow, especially above the forest, for it to be classified as eligible. And watch out so you do not go too far. A little bit down / out there is a little ravine that you can not find out before you have to take off the skis and knock the sides as it gets deeper and deeper. However, the risk of getting here is small because the offpiste between them is not particularly challenging and you get tired of it quite quickly.

I think it was good at Björnrike. I was there Easter -99 and I'm going there now on the sports promise and it will be fun. The backarn was really good. It was nice where we stayed and the staff at the hotel were nice. The slopes are varied and are suitable for all types of riders. Here I learned to go snowboarding and I brought a snowboard home to me!

Because I almost just go to the hill to jump soaked the vemdalen ... but but .... the powder was wrong at all, at least .... a bit more negative, it's crazy expensive and crazy long queues! !

I was in Björnrike no later than 9 / 12-12 / 12
and it was as usual very good at
slopes. The stay was not deteriorated
that the accommodation of the hotel was of the highest
class. The atmosphere is very family ..

I just want to say that Olle has the right to try these off-piste as he described, but I also want to add a good ride to Björnrike. Take the center lifts up to the top and choose a right or left turn, you turn left, you will end up in a fairly snowy, steep place with a bush of small bushes that end in a stream that sucks the mustache from your legs! If you choose right then there is a little more forest, but there is also approved ride, which it ends in the same brook line as Olle mentioned. // Andyman

Waiter, I have been skiing in Björnrike during the New Year's week for almost 12 years. It has always been good pistat etc. One lesson: you have to take off the boots in afterski, "not to spoil the nice floor". Regarding there is no chairlift in Björnrike: There was a few years ago but it was removed because the anchors are more efficient. There was also an accident in the chairlift where a person died. I read here that a snowboarder complained that it was hard to ride anchor. It's not even harder than for a regular skier?

Another negative for Björnrike is that there are a little too few and light slopes. There are two types of slopes that are reasonably challenging; Grand Slamack and Snobben. But by the way, it's a good place. Go there, I'll do that.

I live close and go a lot here, some tips if you want to go the best scratches quickly:
Björnrike: Take the top lifts up to the grand slope. Slope as wide as you can right to the right of the grand slalom so you get between the two big peaks, just take 5 minutes.
Go straight into the lava trench and you have a nice offpiste that ends in a forest trench.
Vemdalen: Take the 4-chair to the main house at the top of the top. Go down right behind the "outdoor pool" at the back of the cabin and you have a narrow, well-known low-tide, called "dassrännan". Now turn right or left through the woods to the piste

I'm going to bear 5-6 times. per year, the best thing about Björnrike are the well-paved slopes, best in Sweden. I'm in trouble if it's too gross. As good, the hotel is in the middle of the hill, easy to swivel and have a beer or a piece of food . New for this year is that you get 4 facilities on the same lift card, Bjørnrike, Vemdalsskalet storhogna and Klövsjö. go to Björnrike, definitely worth a visit

I have talked to the vemdalskalet. And they will not build a 6-chair lift and new backs this season. They burst out of money shortage as I understood. But they would bake some bake I think of this season.
