Yxbacken
Yxbacken is a ski resort run by Norrköping Ski Club (NSK) and is located approximately 8 km from Norrköping. The facility includes three lifts and four pistes of varying degrees of difficulty (one green, one blue, one red and one black) and is open during the winter months, depending on weather conditions. Visitors can enjoy the café and the warming hut offering light meals, providing a nice and comfortable break from skiing.
It was here on Yxbacken that Pernilla Wiberg laid the foundation for her alpine successes. During her active career, the sign along Route 55 was updated with the terms "World Champion Hill" or "Olympic Gold Hill", depending on Pernilla Wiberg's recent triumphs and achievements. It is a place that symbolizes both sporting achievements and the pride the local community feels for this outstanding alpine athlete.
