Zettersfeld / Hochstein

Ski resorts in Austria
Zettersfeld and Hochstein are actually two separate ski resorts on opposite sides of the town of Lienz in eastern Tyrol. Both are operated by Lienzer Bergbahnen. Zettersfeld is located on the Schleinitz mountain (9,524 ft) north-northeast of the town, while Hochstein is located on the Böses Weibele mountain (8,271 ft) southwest of the town center. Zettersfeld is the high-altitude resort with a longer season. Although the gondola from the town starts at 2,389 ft, the skiing itself, with 6 lifts and 13 mi of slopes, is at 5,446-7,474 ft above sea level.
Hochstein, with its 4 lifts and 7.5 mi of slopes, has slightly more demanding runs, which are located at 2,208-6,749 ft above sea level. Hochstein has been a recurring host for the Alpine Ski World Cup since 1969, in slalom and giant slalom, in recent years for the women's events. Zettersfeld and Hochstein are part of the Ski Hit Osttirol ski pass together with eight other ski resorts.
