Arizona Snowbowl

The Arizona Snowbowl is located on the northwestern slopes of the San Francisco Peaks, just outside of Flagstaff in northern Arizona. The location makes the resort unique in the United States – skiing in an otherwise dry and elevated landscape, with clear views of desert, forest and volcanic rock formations.

Snowbowl is a medium-sized ski resort with a vertical drop of about 2296.6 feet, which provides relatively long runs compared to many other resorts in the southwestern United States. The range of pistes ranges from wide, easy-to-ski slopes to steeper slopes that take advantage of the mountain's natural slope, especially in the upper parts of the system.

The snow supply naturally varies from year to year, but the facility has invested heavily in snow production to secure the season. When the conditions are right, the Snowbowl also offers lift-borne off-piste in more open forest terrain and along natural formations, something that is appreciated by more experienced skiers.

A modern gondola connects the base area to the higher parts of the mountain, making transportation efficient, while providing access to some of the facility's most exposed rides. The Arizona Snowbowl is a clear contrast to classic alpine ski resorts and attracts with its altitude, climate and distinctive environment rather than size or luxury.
