Ski Bromont, also known as Bromont Montagne Dexpériences, is one of four large ski venues in the Eastern Townships located east of Montreal, Quebec. Both the city of Montreal and Quebec has invested in the facilities since it first opened in 1964. Sports fans may recognize the facility as a host of the alpine World Cup in the 1980s.
Motorists will use Autoroute 10 east out of Montreal before exiting to the south of the highway to the town of Bromont. American drivers coming north from Vermont will find Interstates 87, 89, and I-91 useful. The Montreal - Trudeau International Airport handles most air traffic coming into this part of the Province.
Bromont Montagne Dexpériences offers visitors seven slopes of alpine fun, one reason for the resort's popularity with visitors. These include Mont Soleil, Versant Du Village, Versant Du Lac, Versant Des Epinettes, Versant Du Midi, Versant De La Cote Quest, and Versant Des Cantons. The lowest base is roughly 590 feet on Mont Soleil, and the highest summit elevation is over 1,804 feet on Versant Du Village and Versant Du Lac. Over 1,174 feet of vertical drop is available at Ski Bromont, which is plenty to create potentials for all skill levels.
Over 189 inches of snow falls on Bromont Montagne Dexpériences annually, thanks to the orographic Snowbelt here. The resort uses 1,500 snow guns that supplement natural snowfall to create a skiable base and extend the season at the front and back. Things can get cold on the slopes, especially in January and February, so balaclavas and multiple layers are needed.
Lodging is available at Bromont Montagne Dexpériences and the surrounding communities, ranging from Bed & Breakfast to Luxury Hotel Suites. A food truck and on-site establishments offer snacks and drinks, with hotels offering more dining options. Park rats traveling light can rent equipment for a day or season, and guests bringing their gear will find the repair shop can get it ready quickly.
Visitors to Bromont Montagne Dexpériences will find that each mountain offers something different. Mont Soleil is ideal for beginners with more forgiving runs, while Versant Des Epinettes has more advanced and expert terrain. When all seven mountainsides are combined, guests at Bromont Montagne Dexpériences have a lot of options.
The total area of Ski Bromont exceeds 1,000 acres, but ski bums need to keep in mind that Bromont Montagne Dexpériences is a year-round facility. There are nearly 450 skiable acres at the winter venue, with 141 trails covering the slopes. The facility also maintains six terrain parks, and it has 32 glades. These combine to offer more action than most skiers and snowboarders can handle in just one day.
The runs on Bromont Montagne Dexpériences break down to 37 green/beginner, 54 blue/intermediate, 24 black diamond/advanced, and 26 double diamond/expert. There are lights on 100 of these trails, making it the largest nighttime alpine facility in eastern Canada. Nine lifts move guests uphill at Ski Bromont for another run, including a gondola, seven chairs, and a magic carpet.
