Gerlos

Ski resorts in Austria
A short distance from Mayrhofen is the cosy little alpine village of Gerlos, located in the Zillertal valley. An idyllic winter wonderland awaits you here, where you avoid lift queues and 68 slopes of varying difficulty. Unlike many other alpine villages that often focus more on intermediate skiers and experts, there are plenty of child-friendly slopes in Gerlos. Here you will also find a park with fun jumps and rails and cross-country skiing trails of 7,5 miles.
When you visit Gerlos, you can expect snow. The cosy Alpine village is located at an altitude of 1,300 metres and the highest drop here is 1,205 metres. What many people like about Gerlos is that you can spend a couple of days exploring the slopes and then try one of the nearby systems, such as the large glacier system Hintertux. Once you buy a lift pass in Gerlos, you can take advantage of the entire Zillertal Arena, a huge ski area.
