Macugnaga

Macugnaga is located in the Italian part of Monte Rosa, in the valley between Alagna and Saas Fee. The village has two ski resorts, Belvedere with just over 1640,4 feet of vertical drop, which is suitable for the beginner to the intermediate skier, and Monte Moro with just over 3608,9 feet, which is better suited for the intermediate to advanced skier. The skiing in Monte Moro does not go all the way down into the village, but you have to use a gondola on both the way up and down. It is also in Monte Moro that the resort's park is located, equipped with both jumps and rails.

There are opportunities to go guided heli-skiing to a number of different peaks in the area, and as usual in Italy, there are good opportunities to engage in both regular ski touring and more advanced ski mountaineering - of course there are mountain guides who can help with that as well.

Should you have a day when you don't feel like going downhill, there are both cross-country ski trails and the opportunity to rent equipment in the village!
