Mijoux-La Faucille

Mijoux–La Faucille is a smaller ski area in France’s Jura Mountains, near Gex and the Swiss border. It’s part of Monts Jura, but it has no piste connection to Lélex–Crozet. There are about 9 miles of runs and six lifts between 3,281 and 5,085 feet, giving a vertical drop of 1,804 feet.

The focus is on easier piste skiing, with gentle slopes for beginners and families, plus red runs and one black for those who want more of a challenge. The area is more manageable than large, and from the heights around Mont Rond the views open up toward the Alps and Mont Blanc.

Lift access is available from both Mijoux and Col de la Faucille. From the village, the Val Mijoux chairlift runs, while Mont Rond is reached by a combined lift with both chairs and gondola cabins. That makes the village a possible base even for those who want to ride up without skiing.

Check snow coverage and which runs are open before your visit, since operations depend on snow and weather conditions. This is primarily a choice for groomed runs, not a dedicated off-piste destination. Mijoux–La Faucille is best suited for beginners and families who want a compact ski area with some steeper terrain to grow into.
