Pros:
- Very varied skiing and often very good snow. I understand that they largely run on natural snow, although I could be wrong.
- Relaxed atmosphere - my experience is that those who go here are more here for skiing, recreation and outdoor life rather than après-ski.
- Relatively few people when I've been here, and it doesn't feel as exploited or commercialized as many of SkiStar's resorts.
- Maybe stupid to mention on this particular forum, but when it comes to cross-country skiing, Ramundberget along with the rest of Funäsfjällen is among the absolute best you can find in Sweden.

Minus:
- Slightly limited vertical drop.
- Few chairlifts. The Fjällgårdsbanan is good, but the Osthangsbanan is brutally slow.

I cannot comment on the off-piste skiing.

Quite ok slopes but definitely overrated. Not very long and to compare with Säfsen which is much further south and more accessible. Restaurants and eateries are under all criticism and everything is very expensive. If you order beer (which by the way costs 115kr) for example, they do not fill up the glasses properly. When I pointed that out, I was met with a snort. Hot chocolate runs out at 11am every day. There is a self-service store where you can buy some goods but the prices are outrageous. First and last time I go to Ramundberget.

Varied, not just slopes in a row. Lovely forest. Nice off-piste. Good area for the smallest children.

Good just like before: Fairly varied riding and many possibilities are felt on powder in the forest or wherever you want. The sports holiday week 7 is a little different (see example in previous review).

Living in Västhang works, but Kvarnbäcken is better in several ways. Really good SISO there. You choose the size, location and expenses.

As for food: At 1000, up on the hill, a really good lunch is served. Grytan may reach that level in the future.

The rating should be 5/5 but is pulled down
- lift queues and lack of piste before evening activities on the slopes
- queues and lack of culinary highlights in the pot, even coffee was barely okay
- accommodation of dated standard (optional)

On the other hand, the ride is normally a height so close to 5, anyway.

Ramundberget v7 2024 - been here a few times. Much is good - the snow, the genuineness, the skiing. But there is also development potential. Coffee in the hill - not fun, bake-off and Delicato....fantastic architecture that at Tusen doesn't help if the content doesn't match the shell. Lift system, relatively crowded at the two chairlifts where everyone wants to go, stops, albeit briefly, two or three times almost every trip, of course depending on the guests. Didn't visit any of the restaurants in the evening, instead took us to Skoog's pub, good but somewhat over-advertised. Other practical tips for the facility are, for example, informing about garbage collection, waste sorting, etc.

All in one and relaxed!

Week 13 in Ramundberget is a given success.
The snow is cold and dry with -20 at night and up to 0 and sun on em.

As an all-round venue with most variations, if not the longest, Ramis is a good training opportunity. Off-piste in Osthang, hump in Västmanland and nice easy carving down from the Ängarna. More pressure and speed on the slalom slope.

What I appreciate most are the nice little stream channels and the Ravine, which is a natural halfpipe where you can jump, spin, play over edges and jumps.

Then it's lovely to sit down at 1000 with a reindeer stew and a coffee. Aw på Grytan is a really nice moment with a slightly smaller size and proximity to guests and artists.

With the Bergstrand brothers' snowboard, equipment and merch hangs in Osthang and Topsport by Solexpressen, it's full service. I have been buying my latest piste skis for a few years in Ramis because it is an environment where you can test in different environments.

When you get up in the morning, the breakfast at Mor Britas in Fjällgården is worth double its price. For the children, the environment is relaxed and with skilled ski instructors.

If you want a sesan tour, you have Mittåkläppen and Skarsfjället around the corner. To get a nice change and change movement patterns, the tour Ösjöstugan (luxury waffles) on Kalfjället, Bruksvallarna to Ramundberget along Ljusnan's spring flow is a nice 18 km turn.

Ramundberget is where I learned to ski and the slopes I hung out on as a child and youth. Since then, a lot has happened to the area, some for the better, but also a lot for the worse.

The slopes and skiing are still generally very good and there are good conditions for finding varied skiing and good off-piste around Osthang. However, the old chairlift in Osthang would really need to be replaced.

What is not good, however, is the organization of the facility. Now as an adult and with children of my own, I have visited Ramundberget a few times and was amazed at how messy everything is. Difficult with accommodation and keys, difficult with parking and information about parking. Confused in the ski rental (although it was in the middle of the season) and extremely long queues to get food.

Overall, this makes you feel like you're not getting what you pay for. The last two winters I haven't been to Ramundberget, and I don't see it as likely that it will happen in the near future either. Which is incredibly sad, because it could be so much better.
