Ramundberget reviews (Page 2)

Ski resorts in Sweden
What do you think about Ramundberget?

The skiing at Ramundberget probably really deserves a four despite the low drop and the fact that it is sensitive to wind. When the chairlifts stand still, it becomes very small and the old worn anchor lifts stop far too often.
Also a lot of confusion for people to buy or top up lift tickets (Feb/March 2023). All in all, it feels like the current operation (incl. cottages etc.) is trying to squeeze out as much as possible for as long as possible. An overpriced product!

But what drags the rating down so that it doesn't even climb up to a three is how it handles when things go wrong. Lousy customer handling and questions and complaints are not answered at all or sporadically after a long time.

In summary: Spend your money elsewhere & go to Ramundberget for the day to tour Osthang or surrounding peaks

Ramundberget is cozy and charming. Relatively small mountain but very snow-sure compared to other resorts. The slopes are generally good and if you have to complain about something, it is probably that they are too short.
I would also have liked more modern chairlifts with cups and or a little heat in the seats. When it gets cold, classic Swedish mountain weather, it can get really cold in the lifts.

The restaurants are good all over the village but nothing that stands out.

The accommodation available in the village is also good and reasonably priced compared to other Swedish resorts.

There isn't much off-piste, but there is nice forest skiing. Just like on many other mountains in Sweden, the dense mountain birch forest is rather dense in places. It would be a real boost if you chose to clear the forest in several places.

The back is the mountain is a fun ride but transport back is recommended, (car).

In summary, Ramundberget is a really good mountain that more and more people are seeing. If I were to buy a mountain cabin in Sweden today, I would buy in Ramundberget.

Very good ski resort for beginners and advanced, good off-piste with top-tour locations. Wide slopes and a good selection of good food on the slopes.

Have been to Ramundberget on three occasions and all times the accommodation has been completely to my satisfaction, with a good standard and close to the slopes. The off-piste is best away towards Osthang and beyond Osthang at what is called the pot. There are some rides even further away, haven't tried them though.

If you want to go on a shorter summit tour, there are also tours within half an hour.

What drags Ramundberget down is probably the lack of drop height.

Went here after hearing only good things and reading good reviews here. Was there at the end of March 2021 and there was quite a bit of snow. The weather was generally mixed with both sun and rain. Just went on the slopes. I was quite disappointed with Ramundberget. It is a very long drive from Stockholm for a very low drop height. If all the drop height meters Ramundberget were good they might have worked but they are not. The slopes starting from the only sensible lift in the system are very flat the first bit to have a good slope only a short bit. There are much better pistes over at Osthang, but to be honest I was shocked that there is still such a low standard of chairlifts. It took ages and exposed to the wind as it is, you were quite frozen on the way up.

The accommodation was very good and I will not complain about anything. No direct lift queues to speak of either. Now maybe it's the off-piste and the snow that Ramundberget is celebrated for, otherwise I don't understand? But that is entirely due to the fact that there is snow, and there wasn't much of it when I was there.

Ramundberget is an absolutely perfect ski resort with incredible slopes in all colors. Good for both beginners and skilled skiers who want to develop their skiing every winter. You can book cozy and fresh cottages that are waiting for you all year round. There are fantastic ski jumps for the more skilled riders who want some action in their riding. Really recommend!!

Very nice ski area with good skiing.
+ Well-prepared slopes (not a pit or lump as far as the eye could reach)
+ Little people
+ Good variety on slopes
+ Not skier exploited
- Slightly slow seat lifts, an express lift would raise the area incredibly much.

In summary, Ramundberget is incredibly nice. The slopes stayed nice well into the afternoon, there were some people, nice lift guards, good restaurants, lots of snow, nice views, etc. Go here! :)

Was there last week (week 5). Strange to open at 9 and close at 15 when we had plenty of daylight already from 8 to a bit over 16 ... As a beginner, the descents to neither the cheese slope nor the mountain farm track were not particularly fun to tampas with, I was never to the west slope so there I can not comment. This is of course highly individual, I am hardly worthy of being called a beginner so many, many people probably look at it differently. May well practice me in Romme until next time;)

On the positive side, however, was the crowd, very plenty of space and sometimes almost completely empty on the slopes! Never any queue for the lifts to speak of. The nature and surroundings are fantastic and the weather was fantastic at times. I will go there next season with, hopefully a little more prepared with a few more hours of skiing behind me!

Lifts and slopes are poorly maintained. (Written today Thursday 3 Feb 2022, week 5).
The lifts only open until 15:00 all this week 5, despite other info on some websites.
2. Skarsliften is broken, so several slopes are closed for the time being due to it.
3. As soon as it is colder than -15C, almost the entire area is closed down, the seat lifts are stationary and only a couple of jumper lifts are running.
4. Pisting of many slopes and slopes is not done, instead the slopes are closed.
False beautifully painted positive picture of the situation on Ramundberget on e.g. snorapporten.se and Ramundberget's own website.
