Located in the Catskill Mountains of New York State, about 2.5 hours from New York City, the Windham Mountain Club is one of the most well-known facilities in the area for day and weekend skiing. This is a ski resort that has invested heavily in high lift capacity and well-prepared slopes, which means that you can get a lot of skiing in a short time even when there are a lot of people.
The ski area has 54 slopes over about 115 hectares of skiable area, divided into two peaks (East Peak and West Peak). The peak reaches about 3084 feet and vertical dropen is 1607.6 feet, which is hefty for the Catskills and provides long, continuous runs. The lift network consists of 11 lifts, four of which are fast chairlifts, and the terrain is clearly built to suit a wide audience: a large selection of intermediate slopes, but also steeper alternatives and some marked forest areas for those who want more variety.
A large part of Windham's stability lies in the fact that there is access to artificial snow on almost all slopes (97%), which means that you can often keep good surfaces even when winter hesitates. For those who like to play, there are also several parks scattered throughout the system.
In recent years, Windham has changed a lot as a destination. In 2023, it began to rebrand and profile itself more clearly as Windham Mountain Club, and as of the 2025/26 season, the resort is no longer included in the Ikon Pass.
