What do you think about Chamonix?

Was there o season 05 and that was really, really good!
Nice mountain with many crazy rides, however, it's raining fast so you always have to go farther and get to the spots.
Stayed really tight (5 people on 25 m2) with a "munchin toilet", devil's encounter, and scored 15,000 a month. A little in the most expensive team. Many Swedes there too, almost a bit much. Only place I've been abroad where you are really ashamed of how we northbreakers swim around.
But otherwise it will be four inches up!

Were in chamonix week 11 season 06. Really good for average and experts. Beginners, on the other hand, have no chance. Good offpiste and finfin park.
A number of puck piles and chairlifts e many

Best Skiing: Les Grands Montets

In Montets there are the beautiful steep slopes and even the little further lane.

Good offpiste in principle the entire ski system.
A good choice for many!

Was in Chamonix in 2005 week 12. Absolutely ok ski area but maybe it was a bit late to just go there! In the village you could walk around in shorts and t-shirts, which meant losing a little of the feeling, but it was pretty nice. What I thought was bad with Chamonix where bus trips were wherever you would. That was a big minus. But beautiful town with really nice places and people! But I do not think I would go there again and this just with the thought of bus trips. There was nothing for me. I want to dress my skis outside the door!
If I return, it's the case for the goa offpiste!

Worked in Cham season 05-06 and I have to say that the village and the ride were above all expectations. I've done 5 seasons at other resorts and for years, I've heard about queues everywhere in the system, over-promoted offpist etc, etc, for Chamonix. Bullshit, I say. Ok, maybe over the sports act that there were a little more queues, but no danger at all. It was no more than anywhere else in the world. And the ride, all systems included, was absolutely world class. Also cool when you started looking around and daring more.
Nightlife was also incredible. I had heard that t.e.x South Bar would be a bar for only Swedes, which I thought was terribly sad. But in reality, it's probably the best hangout bar I've ever been to. Mixed clientele consisting of Scandinavians, jenkers, Englishmen and Frenchmen. Faen, which island. Little a lot of people sometimes maybe. Chambre 9 was okay for afterski but the evenings said. The staff were also terribly awkward !! Other schyssta bars were Goophys (chill) and Monkeybar (English). Garage was a necessary hurt. Finnish ferry which is open after all other closed. But, anyway, do not listen to anyone who reduces Chamonix. It is and remains one of the world's best ski resorts. If you have not been there you have missed something.
Henke.

Chamonix Alps capital! ..

The ride was good but the transport to the different systems was quite difficult and the buses home from Grand M. were always LAGOMT full.
The last 2 days I was there, the entire system was forced to close due to snowfall, they came just over 1 meter of snow in 2 days.

Afterglow at Chambre 9 was world class, a lot of people, Swedish live bands who played every night and some guest artists from time to time.

Chamonix was a very nice place with a gasnka big "city" with many ski and climbing shops, but the long journeys to and from the lift systems pull down the rating.

Since we only had to go to Chamonix for a week, I had learned so much about where to go, how and when, etc. All this job was wasted as there was no snow in the last 2 weeks! We chose week 7 to make it the most snow-proof time of the season. Lucky us! Then they can ...

Despite very bad snow, the slopes were in a surprisingly good condition! Fairly impressive, I have to say. But unfortunately everything ends up right here.

Of course, the weather had a lot to do with my low grade, we went there to cushion and got dry days of pimple ... I probably pretend to be very boring and negative now, but honestly, skiing for a week is about as fun as driving the idiot 4 hours ice pulling, and I love skiing! That a "world" ski resort like Cham can not have a real park to entertain in is a pure disaster!
Grand Montets was the only system that gave reasons for its reputation and maintained a good level despite the snow shortage, but the other systems were, in my opinion, bad with sluggish lifts and KORTA backs when the runners down to the village were closed due to snow shortage. (Flegere and brevent).

The nightlife in Cham was mediocre, talked to some bumblebees who were completely lyrical about how imaginative Southbar was, so we hung up. After 30 minutes of filling in the bar we continued. The place where you wanted to dance was Le Garage, as people did not arrive until after other places were closed. And here the girls percentage was 20% compared to many other smaller places: S

Back to the ride. Last night it had come 70 cm overnight, which made the whole gang we crazy about the longing for the mountain! Unfortunately I knew what was expected, low alert 4/5 and basically everything closed except the low part of Le Tour and GM. We had to close some powder turns in + gradient snow on the Le Tour and were terribly excited about the little we had to taste. The lower back (lifts) of the Le Tour have a fall height of about 200 meters.

In the right condition, I can really see GM as one of the best off-piste mountains. Thanks to the big areas and extreme fall height! So I can understand why people are shouting Chamonix. But by the way, I think many other places around the world are classes better.

After a week of ok before, mediocre party, snowshoeing in Le Tour and good long-haul on GM, Cham gets 2/5 of me. Probably because I did not get to know what Chamonix is about, free kicking on the back of GM, Aguille du Midi and Garage Garage?

After 11 o'clock in Chamonix, I have to put myself in the lead as tired of the town.
Much is still good, but the category of people who hang out there is no longer as interesting. Nowadays, it's a bit too much about being cool, smoking and drinking hard.
Sad development, as happens in other places of what I heard.

Chamonix is good, but, many know it and it can be difficult to find good skiing. Personally, I will not be back. Possibly it's a good place if you are able to hang on someone who is well known in the system or drive by guide.

Getting too old to appreciate afterski and party. Chamonix is strong in that category ...

Takes up Chamonix a hack in the scoreboard because I found my wife here :-)

Go for New Year! I was there one week before the turn of the year. It was good skiing, and the weather was superb! It was a bit bad with snow, and quite a lot of rock in the slopes, but it was at the beginning of the season (it did not notice, given how much people there were). Skiing systems are suitable for beginners and elite skiers. What amazed me was that there were button lifts everywhere, but that was not bad for that!
The offpiset was great! We could go for an hour just to get a two-minute ride! Be sure to have a guide if you are going to go offpiste, it's easy to lose weight and the avalanche can be big.
The night life was also superb, I have to add!
I will go to Chamonix several times, but then after New Year!

Keeps with peace, and many others. There is a reason why many many talented skiers choose Chamonix year after year. A lot of the nine idols in the movies are more or less regular in just Chamonix.
Skiing is more than pillows, hats and bira!

I myself go down for the 11th time this winter and like to keep an eye on what I'm talking about. Pretty tired of hearing the rumor about eg resorts like Chamonix. Hey, they're not forcing you to go there. Go to Hemavan, and you will appreciate most other places you visit in future life.

I will not do anything if you choose places other than Chamonix ... People are there, so it's okay, right!
