Grövelfjäll

Ski resorts in Sweden
In the Grövelsjö area, nature experiences are valued more highly than swinging the furry ones on the ceiling. Silence and silence rather than boisterous après-ski. Grövelfjället, circus 35 minutes by car north of Idre, is Dalarna's northernmost alpine ski resort. It is also Sweden's southernmost mountain resort, on the border with Norway, which means untouched wilderness around the corner and bare mountain expanses. And the huge, open expanses are perfect for snow kiting. Likewise, the tour possibilities are endless. The mile-wide view of the Norwegian mountains is included in the purchase. But to get back to skiing, there are eight slopes, from well-groomed, nice family-friendly slopes to steep, flat slopes. The longest run is 1500 meters. But overall, the slopes can be described as nice, so slalom and telemark at a moderate pace work better than speed skiing and full speed. All slopes end on the same side of the mountain, which is convenient if you ski in a group. The ski season usually starts in December and lasts until April.
