Igman
Igman lies northwest of Bjelašnica, about 18.6 miles from Sarajevo. Malo Polje is the alpine section, with beginner terrain, rope tows, and a two-seat chairlift. Nearby Veliko Polje is more focused on cross-country skiing. During the 1984 Olympics, ski jumping and Nordic combined events were held here. The ski jumps are no longer in operation.
The alpine area is small, officially offering about 1.2 miles of trails. The elevation is approximately between 3,806 and 4,895 feet. It is operated by the same company as Bjelašnica, Olimpijski centri Bjelašnica-Igman, but the areas are not connected by lifts.
Igman is suitable for beginners and day trips from Sarajevo, or as a historic Olympic mountain. For more alpine skiing, Bjelašnica next door is the natural choice.
