La Forclaz

La Forclaz is a small ski hill in Valais that’s part of Espace Dent Blanche, the same area that includes Evolène and Arolla. Here, it’s more about a calm, easy-to-navigate ski experience and beautiful views than long traverses and huge linked networks.

The ski area has three runs and a vertical drop of nearly 1,509 feet, with skiing roughly between 5,676 and 7,218 feet. In the village there’s a simple beginner lift for your first turns, while the upper section is reached by drag lifts up toward Tsaté, where there’s also a small snack bar that often becomes a natural stop for both downhill skiers and ski tourers.

The vibe feels alpine and fairly quiet. The terrain is easy to read, and when visibility is clear you get views of peaks like Dent Blanche and Dents de Veisivi, which is a big part of the charm here.
