Mayrhofen, the place for those who want a wonderful nightlife combined with a glorious skiing. Mayrhofen offers a wide choice of slopes ranging from children's area to the extreme Harakiri. The offpiste is relatively good. A tip for those who are here and never before Mayrhofen is to be up early and take one of the first lifts up, otherwise there is a risk of long queues. If it's sunny and nice weather, Hintertux is a hot alternative.

A really nice ski resort with world-class skiing.
Varied with slopes that suits the whole family.
There are good off-pistes also the one who dares to put on it !! = D

It's the only place in the alps I've been to and it's barely comparable to Swedish mountains!

Have fun if you go there!

3rd time we take you this year, awesome place I have to say! Extremely good park with all variety, nice offpiste rides and slopes with great variety. Everything from Austria's steepest back to the always nice 13th hill for the family!

Top spot!

4th consecutive year in Mayrhofen. 3rd year as a family father. 2nd year with mild snow, 1st year with combination flight train.

This year the rating is 4.5 out of 5 and it's the combination of the simplicity to get there, a wide range of accommodation, a city that offers something for everyone (even awesome to be daddy in the village with children who do not ski yet), good skiing from "Penken" to Hintertux as "the top of the iceberg", good skiing schools, which offer Swedish skiing instructors, Mayrhofen's hospitality and have a good range of restaurants - ranging from the local traditional food to the local "Chinese"

This year it dumped in a crowd - no skibums, hash-pulks and no restrictions in the off-piste country Mayrhofen

Look at "do not eat yellow snow" skiing film from mayrhofen at you tube

All time ski resort!
Really good skiing. When the sun is shining it's amazing.
Good with snow, it is believed that it was sunny and +15 C down in the village.
Good lift system with newer lifts everywhere.
The world's best bus driver is here.
You can also go to the other places in zillertal = 60 mil piste, variation is always guessed.

Really good place.

Really lovely place with lots of skiing both inside and outside the piste. Snow proof with the high altitude and the glacier and although it had not been snowing for a while while we were there, snow was plentiful.

Spent most time in Hintertux, where the best ride was. All parts are worth a visit, but Hintertux is the best. I hardly visited the parks but what I saw seemed good.

Go here if you can :)

Was in Mayrhofen both -06 and -08. Mayrhofen has a very nice lift system that suits everyone. It's quite big so it'll take 2-3 days to make fun of it. It's really nice skiing, modern lifts, a big park and you can move around in nearby areas with "Superskipass", to the Glacier Hintertux. The village is also nice, cozy and has the most. However, it may be very popular in the downhill to Finkenberg in the afternoons, especially if there is no snow in the valley. So it was for me this year which made it very disgusting to get down, otherwise absolutely perfect;)

Have been to Mayrhofen for a total of 20 days during the winter of 07/08.
Supported both on fog and sun. The system has a huge variety. If you go up the other side of the mountain with Ahorn you will find a back that is Austria's longest 5.4km! The best part is that there is no 5,4 km transport distance. There are both red, black and blue slings. Absolutely wonderful! There is no chance that you can travel all in one line and yet you have exercise pain for 2 days afterwards.
The system has the largest park I've ever seen with rails in all its shapes, lengths and thickness. The same goes for all hope. If you choose to go up the mountain railway (penkenbahn) at eight o'clock in the morning (the sign says 08.30) you go straight into the cabin without queue at all. Or you get up at 10.00-11.00 so you do not have to queue. Up the mountain is almost never queued. The ski system is so huge that you never get tired. But the best of Mayrhofen is the atmosphere both in the village and on the mountain. It is a quiet pleasant atmosphere. Everyone feels safe talking to everyone. I lived in Mayrhofen on both occasions I was there. The people I met were 90% English.
Everything is on top in Mayrhofen besides one thing.
AFTER SKIN! Aftershine in Mayrhofen is the same as disco in the afternoon. There is no talk about live bands and common singing and dancing. It's a simple thing that would certainly be popular in the area.
Go to Mayrhofen, it is a good different ski resort.

The most beautiful & most varied ski system I have traveled in so far! a rather big park =) (by the way, they played timbuktu when we were there). Has been to Obertauern in Austria as well, Mayrhofen is a better system! Hintertux, the glacier is really lovely, tips to get there as early as possible, really nice pist at 10-11 time! "Harakiri" leans 78 degrees. supernatural for morning skiing!

Is just home from a week (070203-070210) in the Zillertal and has been mainly in the Hintertux and Mayrhofen systems. Despite the promised
The snow depth was very snowy, but two nightly snowfall saved the show and offered a really nice and easily accessible free-ride.

One tip is to live in Vorderslanersbach, all (free) buses change here, there is also the direct cab to Mayrhofen. You save a lot of time though
miss nightlife. Are you a vegetarian, you have a problem.

Overall, you do the best in German and avoid the bottlenecks of the system. The lower parts of the systems are generally not as interesting o in addition
already occupied by hordes of Germans. But skibum o seasonals do not see until the pistols are 50-year-old Austrians.

Mayrhofen
# Do not stay here
# Almost nobody goes offpist so most is untouched
# The cab ride up from the village must be all with so there will be a little bottleneck in the morning in the afternoon
# No heat hob
# No telemarketing (nearest to Hintertux)
# The system has great potential
# There is some vegetarian on the menus which suggests a certain measure of civilization
