Mt Olympus is mostly defined by what it lacks. There is no lavish resort experience with wide slopes, chairlifts, or abundance of equipment rentals. This place offers pure freeriding, simply put, by what it doesn't have; It's a natural and straightforward adventure.
The ski area of Mt Olympus is located in a high and south-facing valley at the southern end of the Craigieburn Range. This area, with jagged mountain peaks, including impressive Mt Olympus at 6876,6 feet, acts as a natural barrier against the clouds coming from Antarctica, resulting in over 14,8 feet of snowfall each year.
The terrain offers a balanced mix of freeride opportunities – from open spaces and gentle slopes to challenging precipices and peaks. Mt Olympus attracts above all enthusiasts of magnificent mountains, backcountry explorers and freeride lovers. For beginners, there is also a beginner's slope where you can have fun and learn to ride.
Thanks to high ridges to the north, west and east, Mt Olympus is protected from the dominant westerly and northwesterly winds, which helps the mountain retain its snow even when other ski areas have the snow stripped off.
