Vallnord - Arcalís (Ordino)

Arcalís is the most alpine part of Vallnord and sits at the very end of the Ordino Valley, high up and north-facing in the Pyrenees. You feel it immediately. Much of the terrain is open above the tree line, with bowl-shaped faces, ridgelines, and natural lines that make the area often mentioned as Andorra’s clearest choice for freeriders.

The ski area is a good size for one or a few days, with about 18.6 to 19.0 miles of groomed runs. Elevation ranges from roughly 6,365 to 8,612 feet, giving a vertical drop of about 2,247 feet. This isn’t a place where you ski from village to village—it's more of a mountain where you can find your favorite laps and keep dialing them in, both on-piste and just off to the side.

Snow is a big part of why people come here. Arcalís itself highlights that its location and aspect often deliver excellent snow conditions, which is also why the area is used as a venue for major freeride events. There’s plenty of terrain to explore off-piste when conditions are right, and you get more of a true high-mountain feel than in many other parts of Andorra.
