The Homestead

Ski resorts in USA
The Homestead is a small ski resort on Bay Mountain in northern Michigan, with a location that stands out even for those who are used to American "local slopes". Here you ski close to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and much of the experience is in the environment around you – especially when the weather is clear.
The skiing is designed to work for the whole family. There are slopes that are clearly adapted for beginners, but also options that can provide more challenge for those who want to ski a little more seriously. The system is not huge, but it is easy to understand and suitable for a relaxed ski day without stress.

What really makes The Homestead special is the view. From the slopes, you look out over Lake Michigan, and the combination of skiing and great water views makes this feel more like a winter trip than a regular home slope – even though the resort itself is quite compact.
