Dotted a caldera week with lots of opportunities for powder shooting right outside the slopes. That guide we had planned for, we never needed to rent when we found more than enough of exciting skiing ourselves. Possibly we were lucky with weather when we basically had snowfall at night and stay on the days. Österike is snow safer than the Western Alps in each case, which in itself is an argument for Badgastein / Austria.

Many types of rides and the group I went with managed to find many different types of rides. It is a death toss to miss the opening of Sportgastein after a snowfall.

Something high "I-are-here-to-show-my-expensive-equipment-factor" on the sweden-dominated after-skin, but I can live with that. If it's too bad, check on the back of the hill, where some of the staff and the seasons are up to date. Good party factor for those who think it's important.

Remember a dip in the outdoor pool! Great for a ski car!

Provides maximum rating, possible 5th of course, because the weather was a perfect match, but here there is always a good potential.

Was there v. 13 2005 & v. 8 this year. You should not go too late in the season - then it can be pure sorbet below the central stations. In addition, hot weather causes the slopes to be quickly absorbed. 1) Do not forget Graukogel - box lift, but superb slopes and a little queue. 2) Sportgastein is superb if it's open and the view is good - a bit difficult at snowfall when the view is zero. 3) The Schlossalm area is mixed - both forest and highalpint, but very many people (especially in Angertal) 4) The dorf is over-advertised, far too many people. Best with the place is STS pistons - perfect way to meet like-minded people. Worst are crowded ski buses and too high volume on SB to suit the target group.

Were in Bad Hofgastein Gastein one day v.8 2001. Remember not so badly, except that they were really foggy. The backs were otherwise very good. Good pistachio. Went much of the day afterwards we went to the bathhouse and bathed. As I said, only where there one day, because we went there because they were in cash in Maria Alm where we really were.

Here spent 2 seasons in Bg and a few strings in the rest. Is a bit of a pruderfreek and almost always managed to sneak my day off when it had snowed 3 days and it became sunny.
As there was no major congestion among the pudding, the legs showed what they were doing. Rarely less than 50 cm new snow 03/04 the 3 best rides I had were 1. Graukogel last week in March. snowed 4 days and still worshiped divine woodland all day with new trails all the time. We probably did not have more than 10 people in the entire system. Many steep beautiful beads with pretty sparse trees. 2.5 days later in Sportgastein "Norden" The first day it was open after the snow weather we had. The sun was shining and the temples were all over zero. Indescribably good. You just walked and smiled and spotted snow. Went directly after the trip to Stubben and enjoyed the STS picninc with about 300 others. 3. Dorfgastein Directly behind the lift from the village. High avalanche but nice ride for some 100 meters. Good slope with some more difficult passages, Good steep in some places, check the avalanche danger! This was in the middle of February. Cool city to live in good mood and much Jack Daniels. Now it was for sure the long time I was in Badgastein and much has certainly happened, but I like the resort and the skiing strong. Was usually there in January, and the sneezing of Sportgastein was usually dry and nice. It just "dambed" around the body while walking. Now I'm not a big party prince but you do not have to go to bed if you do not want to. The best food I ate at Banhof, do not know if the restaurant is there, but if available then I recommend this. Will defenditively bring the children to Badgastein when they grow up.

There is a very good Offpist.
But it's important to know the right people who can take you.

The best thing about the offpiste in Bath Gastein is to know about it, and
You can go for a whole day without seeing a lot of wanna bees from
"crossed" with steering column headlight etc ..

Spent the goose season in this incredibly beautiful city .. When we arrived early in the season, first time went to a lot of bartid ... Here you find a place you always feel very welcome at ... Haegbloms, disturbed the good staff both in and outside the bar. When snow is e there, you can go untouched pillows every day, which suits me very well! Sportgastein stands out for the best pisted slopes where they are very wide and allow one to go by slipping past a lot of tourists. Do not have a negative and say about the village besides the terrible slopes, but you can take it !! Eat badly at the Chinese train ... Badgastein strongly recommends for both seasonals and tourists (nevertheless, to end up in STS barfälla) // Christoffer

A crowded place has been there a couple of times ... It has been too long queues and bad pistachios ... The weather has not always been the best but a good place always holds a high minimum level ... After all, perfect yes you know (Lössnö) then it has a top spot

Have been to Badgastein 3 times and have to say I have no bad experience of anything.

Though we have been there early in January all the time, we have been lucky with the snowfall.

No queues and not very cold.

Can you get better warming in the Alps than the morning trip from the top of Stuben to the valley of Angertal?

2010 update has been in Bad Gastein a total of 5 times now and has to say that at some time there were some new lifts;)

Week 5 amazing snow

Was in Bad Gastein v 7 -05, was quite ok skiing but I expected more. Had a lot of snow all week and got sunny at the end of the week. Nice people in general. Prices are at home in a roughly. Aftershin should spend on Silverbull where we were every night of the week ... also tested others but no real move. Nightlife was okay, but you're there to go skiing;)
