Have only been in Badgasten once (v.4 2005). It was very successful. Good ride with plenty of snow in the offpiste. On friday we were first up with the gazebo in the sport gasoline with at least 20cm unpowdered pillows all over the mountain. Totally amazing! Minus however for the weather that would not be on our side for some days, but you can not do that. Can definitely think of returning here any more times.

has been very bad in badg. You who think the weather is bad must see that windwinds do not hit a ski resort locally ... usually type the entire alps. winter 03/04, Gastein had the best snowmobile / skiing weather in the Alps.
The snow report shown here in Sweden is never correct, it usually shows at least snow in badg. I think those who report measure in a few different ways.
The nightlife is hard with a focus on strong liquor in 2cl glass. There are several good bars than those recommended by STS.
Offpiste is unlimited and relatively avalanche safe, the sportgastein area is VERY snow-proof.

A nice alp village with very good skiing and lots of party life in the evenings. The offpiste here stays untouched well after a snowfall !! One must, however, look up a little because it is not allowed to go offpiste in Austria (do not know if the rules have changed since I was there). The lift can be angry and pick the lift card from you. BUT, because it's going to be so far, I suppose you should handle it properly and expose other hikers .... so hold your skin and do not go to bed when you do not have a family of children 500 meters below a piste ..... I was here for a week in December 2001 and went to STS travel training ... would definitely like to go here again and spend some more time on the skis

Good alp feeling in nice town. Unfortunately, there was some snow in the lower regions when I was there in February 2004, which excluded the offpiste, the snow shortage was resolved by going up to Sportgastein where the skiing was a cannon with wide long well-prepared slopes. Of course there were good slopes in the rest of the Gastein valley, but SportG was the straw sharper. A phenomenon I noticed with Austrian skiers was that they would like to stay in the middle of the piste and then just behind or before a crown. Of course, as a back guard, you should have a look, but this was really disturbing.

Can also recommend that a sunny day take half a day and go to a hot tub with hot springs outdoors. The feeling of lying outdoors in hot bubbling waters overlooking massive Alpine peaks is indescribable, since the beer is cheap (compared to the French Alps and Sweden) does not make matters worse.

Badgastein's lifting systems are both modern and widespread, and it's quick and easy to get around wherever you want. Unfortunately, here is not much (if any) off-piste area for us who want to go a little more fun.
Another bad thing was that you had to go the same distance every day, and this distance from the center station was usually ice-cold and sometimes the snow was completely gone.

As a feast, Badgastein offers about 3 really good places which unfortunately were diligently visited by some older people as well.

We at least had a very fun holiday in Badgastein and we were there during week 8 2004.

Great skiing at the end of January when I was there. Cold and very snowy resulted in a lot of pist where no other went. Sportgastein was the best place if you want to find deep loose snow.

As many others have pointed out, this system is much more focused on the average "all-rounder". If you want to get more extreme driving, you need to know where to go. Ask around the bummar to find out a bit more beautiful, but very often they do not let them get the best scratches. But, as I said, there are good mk better scratches than ex. nordabfahrt which many pointed out as the only good rep. Have faith, there's more to see and go than there is on the surface ...

Fönvind, windmill and windmill ......... hot o rain. CAN NOT recommend this resort that is far too low and is a single long uphill wherever you go!
The ride is good if you are a beginner to a medium rider, no direct challenges in any way.
Working a season at Haeggblom o has never been so badly blown throughout my life! AVOID!
Nightlife is neither better nor worse than anywhere else, maybe you go in a little more stairs than elsewhere ......

The day after it was snowy so it was really nice, a clean one
piste paradise !! They may be the most families in Bad Gastein,
but they also do not match as many as outside the slopes.
Obviously, most Swedes there, both fun and a bit boring maybe.
Silverbullit, cozy apricot, otherwise Unbeatable and haeggbloms,
small but cool places.

I was in Wagrain two years ago and was very pleased with the ride, cozy and lovely city!
