Cascade Mountain

Cascade Mountain is located just outside Portage in central Wisconsin and is one of the state's most visited ski resorts. Its proximity to both Madison and Wisconsin Dells makes it easily accessible for day trips, which has also shaped the resort as a distinct evening and weekend slope.

The ski area is built around several parallel slopes that provide good variation despite limited natural height difference. There are both wide, evenly sloping slopes for technical skiing and steeper sections that give a little more pressure in the turns. Efficient piste preparation and an extensive artificial snow system are essential for operation and contribute to even conditions for most of the season.

Cascade Mountain is also known for its park riding, with several parks that adapt to different levels and are frequently updated throughout the season. Night skiing is a central part of the business and large parts of the system are illuminated, which means that many skiers come here after work or studies.
