hemsedal is norways best ski resort which has gurantied snow througout the season. hemsedal is very good for biginners and has an exellent skischool. there is 2 terrain parks one for bigginers and 1 for advanced skiiers.it also has a variety of black runs and red runs. The resort is small compared to well known resorts like courcheval in the 3 vallays. there is good acomodation for tourists and resuarants. but it is very expensive. the downside to the resort is that it can be very cold sometimes and can get down to -20 . but overall it is a exellent resort for first time skiiers. the views will take your breath away.

Proximity to off-piste, the best après-ski in the Nordic region, year-round resort

Had high expectations after reading a lot. Cozy village with mountains all around but the skiing was a 3, i.e. completely ok. With a lot of snow, I can imagine off-piste possibilities, however, are ok. Works well now in low season, but going on holidays or public holidays is probably not to be considered. Probably terrible queues and little riding. After all, SEK 124 for a pilsner 0.4 is a lot of money 😅, but that's another matter. In other words, a slightly over-advertised ski resort. But fun to have tested there in any case.

We have been to Hemsedal twice with the family. Here is something for everyone. Easily accessible ski area that is easy to get around while being close between children's slopes and more advanced rides. The fact that last winter we scored the year's best powder week with lots of off-piste contributed to that. Good après ski and close to accommodation with ski in ski out.

One of the Nordics' best ski facilities. They have many slopes at all levels. They also have a good lift system, which they have also expanded this year with a new chair lift. However, it should have gone all the way to the middle top, so you would have gotten there with a lift. They have good opportunities for off-piste, both right next to another slope and a little further away. They also have long slopes for beginners. It is also closer from the Gothenburg area than Åre, which are perhaps the two best ski resorts in the Nordics, which can be nice.

By far the best ski resort in the Nordics! Top-class piste skiing, varied and safe off-piste close to the slopes, beautiful views, nice cross-country tracks at high altitude, weather-proof, the Nordics' best après-ski in direct connection to the piste.

Have been here for over 30 years. The best facility in the Nordics! As a ski resort a clear 5th
However, it is starting to go in the wrong direction! Lots of new homes = a lot of people on the slopes. But no new lifts or slopes.
Unfortunately, they have now introduced a parking fee of 109 Nok / day. Pig-like when they have the Nordic region's most expensive lift pass as well.
So with foreign payment because they do not have an account in Sweden, parking lands at 160 Sec. for a day.
Missed the sign so I had time to park 2 hours before I moved it, but they charge for a day anyway.
Park instead where it is still free (a small parking lot) or in the village and take the ski bus up.

So if you like skiing DO NOT go weekends or holidays. Long queues and the slopes full of people.
Grateful for tips about another place with a good drop and off-piste opportunities about 600 km from Gothenburg. Time to change!

The Nordic region's best ski resort in my opinion. Three peaks with long slopes, a feeling of the Alps but still at home. There are flat slopes for beginners, long fun slopes for children to develop their riding, steep unpaved slopes, large jumps and off-piste that can be reached with the lift system. A complete ski resort, and also perfectly OK après ski. Has gone to Hemsedal since 1993 and seen the development of mainly housing that is now top class. The only minus is few budget alternatives regarding housing and expensive Norwegian prices in general.
