Scandinavia's best. Contains a bit of everything. Skicross, hop kulls for all tastes, fun country, good black pistons, varied rides, short lift queues despite law, good eateries with ok prices despite Norway. Highly recommended.

We were there v.1 and it had just dumped so we had very good conditions. Here we find well-groomed slopes and a good mood at Skistarpersonalen. Good pistachio and well-kept facility as usual at Skistar and good food places when hunger sticks, not so expensive even if Norway is well priced and in Sweden. The best free ride we found from the top of Tinden and a part on Roni if you step right on the elevator. Even though it was mid season when we were there, it was ill sick quickly and the powderiness was total, luckily snowed it every night so we had no trouble finding a good ride and you could bet to make the favorite ride every morning. The park felt quite small and adapted to children and the same feeling was found throughout the resort, bring the family here it is quiet and child-minded.

Hemsedal is together with Åre the only Nordic resorts with real mountains in my eyes.

Here is something for everyone: children, adults, jibbers and freelancers. Even summer activities are starting to grow up.

Tom party gets satisfied.

This year's news, the hill down to the village is entertaining and speeding up the old dreams of a ski resort reached from the village. There is growth potential in Hemsedal!

There is still much left to explore!

For us who live in western Sweden, Hemsedal is a very good option. With continually improved roads, the journey from my home city of Vänersborg takes only 5.5 hours as long as you avoid rush traffic through Oslo. For that distance you will get one of the better ski resorts in the Nordic region.
There is a real fall height of 650 m and slopes for all levels.
There is a good and easy-to-use offpiste of the kindly but also really challenging offpiste if you only know where to look. Short notifications or even none at all.
For the party wear, Afterski at Stavkroa is a wet experience with dancing on the tables, singers and happy Norwegians.
If the disadvantages are to be avoided, Hemsedal will not get as much snow as some other nearby ski resorts a little further west. The largest amount of snow can fall over the first high mountains to the west before reaching Hemsedal. However, I have to say that I had some of my best pillows in Hemsedal and snow problems in the lift system are not available.
Once a dump has come, it will be recovered quickly. The Norwegians are good-looking outfitters, and the proximity to Oslo attracts many talented skiers especially on weekends.
As far as accommodation is concerned, there is now more to choose from at the resort itself, with varying standards and prices from quite cheap but very easy (Mölla) or very expensive and great (Skarsnutens hotel).
Down in the village there are also a number of accommodation with varying quality and price but with generally cheaper prices when you have to take the ski bus to the hill or your own car.
If you are very economical, you live at Storhogna a mile away for a mocker in simple rooms in a dull environment and a little longer bus ride.
Hemsedal has become more or less my "home bakery" with over 40 trips here over the years and I strongly recommend others to go here. Why not rent their good guides if you're there for the first time to see everything you can not find on the pistemap.

Incredibly good fall height. Very good lift system with adjustable seat lifts. Hemsedal is very well planned so it's easy to find in the system. With mountain peaks of almost 1500 m, it may be a little wind-sensitive.

Good place with the feeling of the Alps. Especially there are longer slopes and beautiful views. Fits the family and allows for good off-track trails if the snow conditions are correct. Good lift system with little queues. Norway is expensive!

Hemsedal is a damn good ski resort!
I who prefer the park before other backs enjoyed the trip very well, as they have two parks with well-behaved jumps and rails.

At home you can find the most of a ski resort in the north. There are long goa slides backing some beautiful black slopes. But even the chapped offpist, spec up from the top to the top. Have been there a few times and I have been satisfied every time. However, last time there were plus degrees and no further offpiste but then there are nice slopes going well into the afternoon. A minus with the home team is that many of the slopes come down to the same place at the 8-chair, making it easy to queue.

But, as I said, Hemsedal is okay!

have been there 2 times and have not experienced it as a boring mountain and go on but on the other hand the activities of the night should be much better given that there are a lot of youths there but it is not the whole world parks are very nice and the offpiste is fine have been nice weather and snow so it's enough for everyone.

Have just been to Hemsedal around Christmas and the snow has been a bit so there the times I've been there. So offpiste I can not comment on but can imagine easy pillows between the slopes, iaf. above the tree line, is not so hard to get if you're up with the tip and fight with the rest of the people.

Otherwise, the slopes are approved, nothing special but they are good enough. You quickly go through the system and thus you get tired quickly too.

Overall, however, a better alternative than going to, for example, Sälen if you come from the southern parts of Sweden. Nice people and friendly staff, less of the daring attitude in Åre. Schysst park seems like, absoult is no jibs himself but the blue park was a bit fun to play around in the iaf.

Hemsedal works perfectly for a weekend or week, but longer than that, you get tired of the slopes pretty fast!
