Kashimayari

Kashimayari is located in Omachi in the southern part of the Hakuba Valley, near Lake Aoki, and is one of the quieter ski resorts on the Hakuba pass. Many people continue on to the larger areas farther north, but that’s exactly why Kashimayari can feel more relaxed and less crowded.

The ski area has around 12 runs and a vertical drop of about 2,362 feet. The skiing is best suited for families, beginners, and intermediate skiers, with lots of gentle to moderate groomed terrain and great views of Lake Aoki and the Northern Japanese Alps. There are also a few steeper options and limited tree skiing for those who want a bit more of a challenge.

In recent years, Kashimayari has positioned itself more clearly as a Family Park, with activities for kids and groups who want to do more than just ski the groomers. There’s also a snow park, which makes the area a good fit for riders who want to mix mellow cruising with jumps and basic park laps.

This isn’t the most famous powder destination in the Hakuba Valley, but for a quieter ski day with family-friendly terrain, great views, and less hustle, Kashimayari is a solid option.
